Didn't work for me...Wished it were that simple. I in fact taped the entire door to eliminate any air entering the cabin

Your dealer will tell you they all do it. They cannot troubleshoot this issue as other trucks do the same so they pass it off as a characteristic of the truck. You have to
Call Toyota Service Phone: 800-331-4331 Open a ticket.

My current 2012 does it, as did my test drive in the 2016, right in front of the dealer…he was shocked…I was not. Once I trade up and hear the noise, I will call and set up a ticket because the noise is extremely annoying to me, especially when I need to make a 500 mile drive across the prairies with a cross wind!

You are fortunate. I hear the howl with or without a cross wind....Always there peaking at around 40-45. you should get a Due Bill to repair before taking delivery.

I don't know why or how it went away. It started when I had OEM nerf bars put on by my dealer. It lasted about two days. Then it just stopped. As I posted in the other thread I am convinced it is a Chevy gremlin blowing into a longneck Corona bottle.

I washed my truck for the first time yesterday and noticed the fogs are a little loose. There is a small air gap around them. Has anyone tried taping them up? For some reason, my truck doesn't seem to make this noise all the time. When it gets started though it is pretty annoying if you don't have the radio on.

I should of said the plastic around the fogs is what is a little loose...The actual fogs are tight, but the black plastic that surrounds them is a little loose fitting.

Anyone with a base model without fogs having this issue?

Also vehicles with factory nerfs - you folks hearing the wind noise?

Please update so the initial thread can be updated

I have the same issue with my 2016 with 300 miles. Annoying howling sound only from drivers side. Called corporate but they didnt do anything. Will take it back to dealership and see if they can figure out something. Sucks.

I have an SR without fogs (for now). I don't have any of the wind noises or howling I've heard about on this forum. Fog lights, grill, fender flares(?) could all be the culprit I guess.

I don't know if this is related, but my 2010 was always had a lot of wind noise... I really had to turn up the radio on the hwy. ( I drive at 75 )
But I installed a S POD and put the switches on the sun gas holder and at the same time finally decided to put dyno mat on the roof to keep it cooler and quieter...

Wow what a difference the wind noise is almost all gone, crazy... It was so much quieter we drove most the way up north with no radio, just relaxing... No wind noise till over 60-65 and not much at 75...

After they fix the problem, insulating the roof is a great mod and worth the time....

I never thought it would reduce wind noise....

I don't know about you 3rd genners, but if the problem is the weatherstripping indeed, it sounds like all of you shoul invest a good $100+ in some EGR in channel window visors. They further quieted down window noise for me in my 2nd gen (not that I had any issues with it, but quieter is always welcome) so you guys should definitely consider doing so if it is a supposed weatherstripping issue.

I am waiting for a Northeaster with sustained winds of 40mph. Going to park at the ocean facing into the wind, turn off the truck and listen. :rain:

Wind noise is not the issue. We all have wind noise...It's when it gets "pitched" like a howl, it can get very annoying fast.
