Is this considered a spacer lift??

i say this online when i was looking for lifts...

is that considered a spacer lift? Are there any disadvantages or advantages to this when compared to a typical spacer lift?

Yup. Its the same thing I have but Mine is a Different Brand. They ride kinda rough but not bad for the price and Super easy to instal. I have taking my truck out and not have had any issues. OakleyTrd can vouch for that. haha

Chris I know this has happened more the once with other people. But you would really have to hit something really hard for it to break. I've taken my truck out an never had an issue. I can see how you would break a shock because they will bottom out before they hit the bump stops but I've seen the same thing happen to the OME shocks and the 5100's. Its that skinny steel piece the goes from the shock body to the eye the bolts to the LCA that snaps.

 

I know it was. But he was going fast through a puddle and then hit a hole on the way out. I remember talking to him about it at the Lake. If you have a top spacer lift you can't be trying to Baja the truck or anything but if you are just going through dirt roads and slower trails you shouldn't be worried.

 

How likely is that to happen? and you say they will ride close the stock quality? (Sounds better than the traditional spacer lift above the coil)

 

I've never had an issue. But I all don't drive fast in the dirt or through bumps. So don't try to go out and jump the truck with one. haha

so for 150 dollars i can lift my truck 3 inches in the front and 2 inches in the rear with this lift correct? it includes everything all for 150 federal reserve notes? that just seems cheap. or is it just me?

 

It is cheap, and you get exactly what you paid for. Nothing more, and maybe a lot less than expected.

Do your self a favor and save up to do it right the first time. I could almost bet money on it that a few month down the road you will be kicking your self in the ass for installing such inferior parts on your truck. I'm only saying this because so many of us have been in your same shoes before, including myself...

 

so would your shock break with the ome kit? or just a spacer lift? im planning on going wheeling and i usually hit some rough stuff when i go. my stock stuff had no problems but when i looked at the new shoocks they looked like they werent weled to well around the eye that connects to the lca.

and it says: "Please avoid top load spacers (sit on top of coil/strut assembly) as they are known for over extending CVs and breaking ball joints. "

so are you guys that these things are "safe"?

 

so the spacers that came with my ome kit are going to hurt my truck? they sit on top of the new assembly...
