    Am I the only one that thinks conference championships should be played at the home stadium of the team with the better conference record?

    Give you an actual home field advantage and the attendance of a lot of these games is hideous.

    Bowls are organized by independent committees. They invite teams based on their performance in the regular season. They typically are focused on getting teams that will bring the city revenue.

    Conference championships are held by the conference as a way to crown a champion of the conference.

    Look at the AAC championship game. The stadium is packed. I can guarantee the AAC championship game would not be that busy if it was somewhere like in Rhode Island (where their hq is) or Tennessee/NC (geocentric location).

    Not only is it a reward for getting home field advantage but it also rewards the school with another home game opportunity to create revenue.
