Does anybody know if the taco tunes box fits in the 16 or has anybody installed a taco tunes box in their 16 DC? Sent them a few emails still no reply

 

A member has installed the single sub box in the center of the back behind the seats.

I ordered a single 8" box from super crew sound to put in the same location.

 

Anybody have photos or details of install?

 

Does it fit the 16 same as 15?

It looks like the single enclosures will only fit in the middle because of the vents in the 2016's.

 

I will let you know if super crew sounds fits when my box gets here.

Have the ********* 12" sub box. Had to install it in the middle portion of the cab due to the vents. It fits perfect and was able to keep driver side storage intact. Installed a Pioneer IB Flat 12" shallow mount sub and sounds incredible for the size box it's in. Had a Kicker sub previously and the sound quality isn't even comparable with this new shallow mount sub. The Pioneer sub actually has more surface space so I had to cut the hole in the ********* box a little bit bigger, but a template and a jigsaw takes care of it pretty easily. Here's a picture with the old Kicker installed. If you get this box, make sure you get a shallow mount sub with a minimum sealed space of .5 cubic feet.

 

Besides taking out the plastic was any modification required to truck or box? How do you secure box?

 

The 16 Tacoma has the vents in the back as you guys know, we are near the finish line with a new design of boxes to make it simple and easy to install the little and big box in the back of the tacoma.

We are also engineering a harness yall can use to plug into the factory connections and install speakers and tweeters in no time.

@ottoperformance the box is secured by 10 mm bolts bolted down through little screw holes in the back wall of the 2016
We made the holes in the box line up with the holes in the back of the Tacoma to secure it our new design of the small boxes will have 3 as well as our ported tuned box will have 3 instead of 2 now

 

@ottoperformance new boxes will be in next monday, just got the word from out builders.
