The head lights have to be the best investment on the truck. There totally worth it. And I made it. There is some pics of how in my build thread. I can post them on here give me a sec.

Just a bit of advice... the way you are pulling that boat is making the it fight against you... If I were you I would be behind that beast take that snatch block attach it to that back bumper or frame of the other truck then run your winch line through the snatch block the back to your truck... If you can't keep your truck still while pulling anchor your truck to a tree or another truck while you pull.... Do this and I'll promise that big beast will come right out...

FYI I'm a recovery NCO for the Army deal with this sort of thing all the time

The angle of the pulling line off that snatch block is making the vehicle they are pulling work against them

You would not believe the logs and stumps blocking that thing from the rear. Trust me, we've been all through pulling it from behind. Not a snowballs chance in hell. And if it decided to start cruising down that hill with me attached, hell no.

Here is how I made it...

I used stainless mesh that came off semi truck stacks...

I got the center part of the gril out, then cut out pieces of plastic from it, and jb welded then in there to fill the holes. Sanded it all smoot.

Then I sit the mesh behind it and jb welded it to the grill. The bedliner helped hide the un eveness of the jb weld.

Here is it with the bedliner

That's why you use a secondary anchor... But I know pulling a vehicle from the side with its wheels straight ain't helping you at all especially going uphill

Yeah we didn't have a secondary anchor and we thought we had the keys but we didn't so we couldn't turn the tires uphill. Just about everything was not in our favor.

Ya ha it was just an all around shitty situation. I think we would have had a lot more luck if we were able to turn the tires uphill or even had a chainsaw to clear some shit out of the way.

Yea luckily when I normally have to recover a vehicle and need to use a winch I have a 60,000 lbs winch and two snatch blocks if I need it

I scuffed up the stainless some with 120 grit I think. Then for the plastic I had to spray on this stuff called bulldog adhesion promoter, 3 coats.
