Dude, awesome pics! It makes my old heart feel good seeing a beautifully kept Toyota Pickup still out playing in the woods. I haven't seen one of those in that condition in years. Makes me really itch to work on my '79 some more but finances are tight right now so it sits collecting snow at the moment behind my shop.. :(

Is it all original? Are you the original owner?

At least two other owners before me, no idea how many others have had there paws on it. I believe the truck began life in New York.
Pretty much all original. I bought it with about 90,000 miles and it's just shy of 150,000 now. Ive had to replace a few things along the way and it definitley has some issues I need to resolve, but it has been an awesome truck. There is a long list of things I want to do to it still.

That's definitely a score though at 90k miles. Luckily it wound up in good hands. It would probably look like a cheese grater if it was still in New York, they salt the crap out of their roads there. Average lifespan of a car is around 5 years before it is deemed unsafe to drive. Definitely not a Toyota friendly environment! Our trucks are known to run forever, just as long as the body and frames don't vaporize from cancer!

Here I was thinking you were just going to putt down some lame, plowed road and show off the scenery, what a nice surprise! Awesome vid and your truck sounds sweet.

a little boring for my taste but figured I should get a camera mount for my window and try that lol.
here is the other video that showed. probably a 30 degree incline and ice with snow ontop. I was breaking ground for a friend in his ford 1 tonne.

Awesome, how do you like the Duratracs in the deep stuff? I just got a set of Cooper ST Maxx put on my truck last week and was able to goof off a bit with them today, didn't get much into the technical stuff like you did because I was alone without cell service but I intend to put them to the test over Christmas when my buddy comes to town with his truck so we can both go out and try some fun stuff! Here's my pics and one from today, nothing great but it was a fun drive.

The Maxx's seem to do pretty good in the wet snow and powdery snow, but they fall flat on their face in the hard packed frozen crap. They are Load Range E so I think that is 99% of the problem, too stiff of tread for hardpack snow and ice.

I love my duratracs and if i was to go to anything else on my truck it would be either a Cooper at3 or mich ltx depending on what i was to be doing for the next 100k km.

I love drives like what you did and i am always alone as the other guys are in full size trucks and either can't get up the hills or down the paths. I had a couple guys converted but they are nervous about hurting something smaller then what they were driving.

A couple notes about duratracs in general.

-they are a soft tire and i have found better traction in most situations about 5lbs pressure more then other tires in the same situation because of the sidewall.
    - i put 45 000km onto my last set of p rated duratracs and tried to burn them off but only went down 4/32. If you rotate the tires they don't wear at all.
    - they are about 8 out of 10 across the board in mud/snow/ice etc. If you go into a situation knowing this you will be fine. If you expect a tire to save your butt when you make a mistake then you have a 50 50 chance with these tires.

That second video showed that i was high centering in the powder/ice but i was alone so i couldn't even get someone to hold the camera lol. I admit I have tried much harder stuff when there is a second vehicle to pull incase i need it. Planning on a pelfrybuilt aluminum bumper soon lol. Need a winch mount

We finally got a decent snow but I'm on duty and can't get out to play around. About 6" in town and more in the mountains.

My brother got out in it a little bit yesterday before it got deep.

Awesome! You're so lucky, I wish Montana was getting that snow too, we need the moisture. I heard Colorado was one of the states forecasted to get the heaviest and most accumulated snowfall for the whole winter so you guys look like you're in for a good one! Love the pic and the cabin is stunning in the background.

Yea, we are originally from Texas. Snow is still kind of new to us and we are loving it! But yea, that's what we've heard too. Suppose to be a crazy year! We are trying to plan a trip to come check out Montana and Wyoming. Beautiful country up there as well that we can't wait to see!

Yep, it truly is! I've been to CO a few times too and there's some spectacular sights there as well. I was raised in MT and have spent 23 years here and still haven't seen it all, there's lots to explore if you got the time and money to drive all over. I highly recommend the Glacier Park and Flathead Lake area with the drive over Marias Pass to get there is absolutely breathtaking any time of year and it is a major commuting highway so it's always plowed and maintained. Another stunning drive would be Rogers Pass that's not too far away. There are many others, but those are the top two I can think of at the moment. Yellowstone Park is stunning too, but right now all but one entrance is closed off for winter so you can't drive through the whole park until spring, but if you want to rent snowmobiles for a day, that's an exciting way to see the park in the winter. I've never done it, but it looks like a good time!
