Anyone figure out how to open all of the doors key free, except for opening the driver door and using the inside switches? Or, pulling the key fob from my pocket and pressing the button.

There's a setting in the entune to open all doors when you put your hand in the drivers handle. That's how I do it.

Excellent. Thanks. I was sure it was possible. I need to walk through that menu for other options.

You need the technology package. You don't have that feature if not.

    Wrong.

It is a standard feature on all TRD trims.

Just go into preferences on the head unit and you can decide whether to open just the driver door or all 4 doors when your hand touches the driver side handle.

Hmm. Holding the two buttons in the key fob didn't work for me. I got the beeps but no difference in behavior. I also don't see any settings related to door locks. Guess I'll check the manual.

Found it. Apps - setup - vehicle - vehicle customization - door lock settings

Awesome ... Thanks so much ... finally, I always put stuff in the backseat like laptop etc. Nice to open that door easily now.

Question: when you can't open the door hands free, why the hell does it matter whether you can unlock it hands free?

This question (unlocking all doors vs driver's) was also previously answered in the 3rd Gen "Pet Peeves" thread.

It's funny - in other forums, the Mods would be all over you for not searching for answers before posting - I haven't noticed it in Tacoma World...

Asmentioned in pet peeves section, I hope to find a way to put a drivers door handle with sensor and wire it up on the passenger side. But my time is limited so maybe someone on this forum will get to it before me lol.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the manual.

I imagine it doesn't work because the same fob in use for the push-button start (which the manual doesn't have) and the proximity door unlock.

The manual transmissions come with a traditional key not a smart key. It only works on smart key models.

If you are walking up to the truck with stuff in your hands its easier than fumbling around in your pockets for keys to unlock.

So is this an either/or thing? My wife has a murano with push button/keyless everything. There is a small button on the door handle. One press opens just the drivers door. Two presses opens all doors. Is this kind of setup an option?

I doubt it, thats a Nissan thing, Toyota has the touch sensor like the Lexus, but they put them on both doors. I had an Infiniti with the 2 push button type.

Holding down both buttons on the transmitter worked on mine. 2016 TRD Sport without tech package. Very very happy to have found this feature.
