I paid 2.89 a gallon for Ethanol free 89 octane.

My truck has been getting 12.9MPG. So I cleaned the MAF, replaced a hose on the intake, and cleaned the throttle body. That got me too 14.9MPG city and 15.9 Interstate. Tried Ethanol free now and waiting for results:playball:

On top of this though, does anybody have any tips or ideas for me on what else could possibly fix my mileage?

Where can you find ethanol free fuel? I want to use it, but I can't find any gas stations that carry it in my area.

Go to Puregas.com and just follow through that. There's only one in my location.

Oh no, I couldn't do that. Wouldn't give up the reliability for gas mileage.

Sounds pretty low, are you sitting in a bunch of traffic? What's it idling at?

I agree with Clucky, OP. Your mileage sounds unusually low. (My Tacoma averages almost 19MPG.)

Have you replaced all the usual tune-up items (e.g., filters, plugs, wires, etc)? What tires are you running, and at what pressure do you keep them?

Pretty sure the site you want is actually http://pure-gas.org/

If you get 10-12% that would be about right.

That's $1 gal. more than regular e10 is here now. Math may show that 10% gain costs $ on the total $/mi calculation.

Any mechanical mods to your truck? Wheels, tires, suspension? If so, have you considered the speedo/odo error in your calculations?

Everything has been replaced recently and I'm on 265/70/R16 Bridgestone dualers A/T Revo 2's. Run 26psi in all 4 as the door says.
I'll check on the idle when I get back to my truck. As for traffic, no. This is after a straight 2 hour drive down I4. No traffic or anything.

I'm on 265/75R16 Duratracs (and BFG A/T KOs before that), but I usually run them at 28-30psi.

How fast are you going on the highway? (My mileage is better at/below ~60MPH, and drops quickly above 75MPH.)
I know you said it's a "straight" drive on I-4, but what about elevation changes? (I realize there aren't a lot of mountains in FL, but mileage also suffers when climbing.)

EDIT: What oils are you running (in the engine, transmission, and rear differential)?

Your profile says you've got a 4cyl DCSB. I wonder if your engine is simply under-powered and, therefore, working to hard?

FWIW, I found my Ultragauge useful in helping monitor mileage and adjust driving habits to maximize it.

As for having a 4cyl.. When I first got the truck I was getting 18+ MPG and it's gone down since. I am however usually 85MPH+ down I4. So tonight on my way back to Orlando I'll hit 65-70 the entire way.

OP that mileage sounds very bad. I have the 3.4 lifted on 32s and I get a consistent 19 (mixed freeway city).

Is it a high miles tired engine? Stock tires or big ones?

There is the reason for your MPG loss. These trucks do not like anything over 80+ when it comes to getting better gas mileage. If I remember correctly the sweet spot is 75. Though I could be wrong, going over 80 ocasionally has netted me a loss of fuel economy from my normal 325 a tank all highway, to like 300.

12TRDTacoma is correct though, in my experience, the sweet spot is below 75MPH. Your highway speed is the (biggest) problem. Your mileage will improve if you slow down.

That's high. IIRC, mine idles around 800RPM.
