I could go without any packages. I would love a sunroof, but i really dont want to be up in that price range. kind want the factory roof rack. Every dealer around me is acting like it is impossible to just order me exactly what i want from the factory. id really like to be at $36,000 after tax, but might just go with the $37,500 just to get this over with.

I have read on this forum that the factory roof rack is an easy DIY install.

You cannot order what you want from the factory. There are three ways to get close to what you want....

Tell your dealer what you want. They put in a request for what you want and hope Toyota accepts it. If it has a combination of model, package, color that Toyota isn't planning on building, it will not be accepted. The fleet manager should be able to tell you what they will probably accept, and that could take up to 6 months to get based on demand, regional %s, and rarity.

Tell your dealer what you want and have them try to configure a vehicle after it has been allocated to them. This rarely works. They can also use Dealer Daily to search allocations around them, out to 500 miles, to see if they can trade a truck for what another dealer is getting. They need a truck with similar value to do so. Some dealers around here can't get any trucks on the lot to do this with.

Let your fingers do the walking and call every dealers phone number you can get your hands on in a 200 mile radius of you. They might have something coming in about a month that is like what you want.

Honestly, finding a truck coming without tow package is going to be difficult. Carpet mats, as well. Exhaust tip, too

Seeing what you all think, Maryland resident.
16 4x4 automatic TRD OR short bed, towing package, Blue color.
$34,614 (including the 800 some freight charge)
    taxes/tag/title $2400
    Dlr Processing $296

Total out the door $29,385 with a $7500 trade in on my 07 taco TRD sport long bed 4x4 with 193,000 miles and bumper/tailgate/windhshield damage & rims are peeling... think i can get them to $8k.. but im not too disheartened with that trade in value.

good deal? talk them down more..

Im in NJ thats about the price I am getting for the new truck, people seem to be getting them for less elsewhere, but for that trade in people are asking for like twice that on the same kind of truck on Craigs List. Not sure if they are getting it, Im not giving it to them, but I bet you could get more money.

Well not really ,I have been doing business with this dealer since 1970 1st Toyota 1970 Toyota Corolla Sprinter and a 1970 2x2 Toyota (Hilux) pickup . They are a multi vehicle dearler so we have got other brands over the years .They are the best and I do not think one person that worked there in 1970 is still there
One good thing they are aware of the hood issue and have fixed at least two new 2016s that I know off and told me they will be sure to check mine when it come in!!

So far added OEM front all weather mats, exhaust tip, bed extender, AVS in channels. LED interior lights.
So far haven't removed any decals, badging, or air dam. Good coat of rain dance ice wax. Scotch guard all fabric and carpets. Hunted for two weeks checking inventories. 450 miles. That's not a bad deal for a short bed OR 4x4. You aren't getting much of a deal from them. You should look around for other dealerships who have OR short beds. It's a common truck compared to others but you are paying around the same price for the more rare trucks. I have seen 1000-1500 off common trucks like that around the NE.
