Or take away his joy of owning the color that is most impressive when maintained well.

    I drive 100 miles a day for work, that's a lost cause.

I want to see a Vantablack truck...or not see depending on how you think about it.

Black may not be the color for you then. If you have a life situation that creates a dirty truck frequently with little time to wash it and otherwise maintain the paint, then I would recommend blue. Of all the vehicles I've owned, none hid dirt like blue. Of course, it wasn't as shiny and deep as the Tacoma blue. Consider silver as well.

That would be pretty cool if it's also glossy. :)

I'm afraid it is the blackest of blacks, but also the flattest of blacks.

Yeah, flat black wouldn't look as nice.

I don't think any dealer will sell the TRD off-road 4x4 for that low. Personally I think your looking at a difference of 7-8k. Best of luck.

Agreed. Wasn't floored or impressed by the power of the new 3.5L. Good looking in grey with black fender flares. We going to have them put numbers together, but I'm not hopefull. Also nobody has a trd off road 4x4.. it's hard to negotiate on a truck they don't have on the ground.

I agree. Think of it as a $400/mo. lease. Not bad for 20k mi.

The difficult part may be actually finding a "base 16 trd 4x4 off road".

No one has a base trd off road 4x4. It's a good looking truck, but the interior wasn't my favorite and it does feel lack luster on power. I see why people like the 3rd gen, but for now I'm going to keep my 2nd gen.

I'm working on trading up as well. I was offered this deal over the weekend. I'm trading a 2012 Double Cab TRD Sport 4X4 with JBL and Nav. Spec'd a 2016 Double Cab TRD Sport 4X4 with Tech, JBL, Carpeted Floor Mats and Door Sill Protectors, Mud Guards, and Chrome Exhaust Tip. My 2012 has 9000 Original Miles. Dealer said $36,000 for the new one and $27,000 for mine. $9000 plus tax and tags out the door. Thoughts?

I'd say it depends on your equity and interest rate on your 2012.

I'm thinking about also. I currently have a 2013 DC, OR with 38k. I've been to the local dealer and told them to contact me for a test drive when the get in a DC, OR. The only thing I've heard that I don't like, is the constant shifting when trailering that has been said here. I drag a 3000 pound boat in the back hills and occasional mountain drives. It may be OK but, I'm old school.

I should have stated that my 2012 is paid in full.

No tow mode on the Taco. There is an ETC button that is said to help, but I haven't used it. But there isn't an actual tow mode/button like other trucks have.

ECT using the sport shifter will essentially give you a tow mode with more control.
