Hmm.. I didn't know that 2016's still have confirmed rust issues. How do you know this to be a fact?

There was a thread on here where the OP posted photos of a 2016 at a car show already showing signs of rust.

Like him or hate him, Blue T occasionally does make some valid points - unfortunately those points are something fanboys in their ISIS like dedication can't comprehend or rationally look at the point being made or facts presented. Why some of these guys take criticism of a truck they purchased so personally is beyond me. Want to bash my truck....go ahead. I've got more important things to be concerned about.

For example, who trades in a new truck because of minor seal issues (post above)? Using that logic I should have traded in my Tacoma a long time ago. Rusted rear bumper replaced on warranty, blower motor for interior air circulation replaced on warranty, warranty work done on super loud kazoo like wind noise from windshield, now my frame shows rust after 70,000 kms. It's only now I'm thinking of getting rid of my truck. Not after some minor seal issues on a brand new vehicle.....Guy must have more money than the rest of us or just doesn't know the value of it.

2016 Frame is exactly like previous Gen trucks, its even manufactured in the same factory by the same people except now company is Called Metalsa.
    So
    Same frame
    Same factory
    Same process
    Same materials

This is what somebody posted about 2016
This is what I posted when I got new frame for my 2007

On my frame that was the beginning of the rust, and metal was clearly visible where rust have not started yet..
So I have the same thing on the frame, that Toyota just installed as somebody posted on 2016 Tacoma Frame.
My frame with missing paint had rust spots. Rust was starting but eventually if left untreated will end up like that.

I am sure Toyota hired trolls will find some excuse. 3....2....1... but facts are facts.

I think you are not tagging correctly.

    @because_minitruck
X2. Door seal easily fixable. All you have to do is adjust doors.
I was looking not long ago at Tundra double cab, and rear door had hinge bolts so lose that you could spin them with fingers. Brand new truck from factory. If hinges are lose door will not seat correctly and will leak water. And thats on Double Cab tundra Limited that Dealer wanted over $50 grand for it.
There are small problems and there are big problems. Seal is not big problem..

So you would say the 2016 Tacoma is fraught with problems and the 2016 Colorado is not?

I'd say it's about 3 years too early to judge that. At least. I'm guessing the guy who traded his truck just didn't like the Colorado. Lots of people trade vehicles that quickly. It's costly but it happens a lot. The door seal was just a part of it and probably not the single reason he traded.

I can read, thanks. What I meant was that I've seen sillier excuses used for a trade when really it was that the person just didn't like the vehicle. To each there own. It's pretty common. Go to any lot in our province. Tell me about how many 2014's are on the lot that weren't leases. Your answer will be alot, and probably all of them with a "Door Seal" like excuse that the next owner won't even car about.

No complaints with my current truck. 4.0L, 6spd, 265/76R16s, locker, full skids and bilsteins. Going to hang on to it, none of the new mid-sizes have me wanting to spend $35-40k.

I'm not trying to stir the pot, but I'm hanging on to my Nismo as well due to the issues I've seen with both Chevy and Toyota. I'm holding out to see the new 5 link rear suspension in the next gen Frontier.

Nothing wrong with the Frontier. I looked at one when I bought my Tacoma. Looking back at what I do offroad I would of found the Frontier front heavy, but when I first bought the truck I had no intentions of doing trails this early with it. Oh how plans change :D.

Has there been any confirmation of a next gen Frontier. I kind of get the feeling that it's only been talked about, and not straight out confirmed, because Nissan is waiting to see how the Titan XD does. If it doesn't bring in money for the company I'm guessing the Frontier and Titan will be left to die off this time.

Aside from what is being sold in international markets, there is no confirmation of anything for North America.

I would assume something will come to NA but nothing official from Nissan at this point. I've been watching it pretty close.

I've been tracking a few 2015s Pro 4x crew cab lux packages in Calgary that have been on the lot for some time. I'm guessing with the $3750 rebate and some hard bargaining you could get the vehicle for about $31k all in - maybe cheaper

The savings would buy a lot of gas.
