Pull that clamp off and install a standard hose clamp. You'll get some more life out of it until the boot itself tears. Then you can re-boot or install a new axle shaft.

Will do but do I have to re-grease the shaft? I didn't lose a lot but I lost a bit.

Just a little grease I wouldn't worry. The boot's days are numbered right now, you're just trying to get some more miles out of it at this point. My clamp failed too shortly after I lifted the truck and I did the hose clamp and it made it through the winter.

check all of your bushings, control arms, sway bar, spring isolator, and ball joints. if your bushings are good wd40 will work long enough for it to dry up and start again... a silicone based lubricant is what you want for bushings so long as they are not actual rubber which most these days are not

when you pull the old band off pull the boot back a little bit to see how much grease is in it if all is still coated pretty good then just install hose clamp just make sure when the axle/cv spins that the part you tighten on the hose clamp doesn't hit anything

There's more grease than I thought around the CV. But are you still using the same stock CV? I did drive it to work and back, it's a 3 mile long stretch. But I cleaned around it and also took a picture of my other CV just for comparison. Guessing I can take the clamp off, move the boot and clamp it back up with the hose clamp.

Will do. If it has less grease in it I will put some back with my grease gun.

    I'd swap that one too.
I have been running NAPA cv's for the last year. However it is advisable to keep your stock cv's and re-boot them. They are superior to aftermarket replacements.

Yea that's why I'm trying to keep them. Do you got a CV boot part # I could get and replace them after this winter is over?

i would make a quick trip to the parts store and grab some cv grease to refill as needed general purpose grease will work but won't last... but if you'r planning on replacing the cv's in the near future then you'll be fine with the general purpose till then

New 3rd brake light and custom mount, 4runner rear spoiler, and new camper shell gas props for glass (it actually stays up now).

Kinda off topic, but what camera did you take these pics with? The quality is excellent for such low light.

It is 3 foot. It is actually my second antenna... I broke the 4 foot one because it hit something. I decided to sacrifice range for longevity due to damage.
