hi there. I have a Tacoma 2003, the inside of the instrument cluster has some dust. I want to clean it, but it does not look like is easy to take apart from the box. I just want to take the front clear part from the one with the gauges. Does any budy has a recommendation for that?

its all depends on how the clear part is mounted to the bezel some use clips that are molded into the clear part to hold it on others are glued on... if they are clips then pretty self explanatory if they are glued then you could try to heat the glue with a heat gun to soften the glue and gently pry it apart however be careful to not melt the plastic once complete you then use either epoxy or super glue your choice to glue them back together... however you do it take you time so that you don't have any f-up's

thanks, it looks like clips, but they are there like they were borne in that place. I did push em a little, trying not to brake it. Will try again. Do you know what is the use for a couple of steel plates with some form of hook on the bed? I figure that they can be for a nest or a bar like the Fords? so you can use the tail gate open with it to hold larger cargo????

it appears that a previous owner had a bed extender installed the extension piece would rotate on those hooks and allow the extension gate to be stowed in the bed with the tailgate closed and when needed you would open the tailgate and flip the gate over to extend the cargo area of the bed... as for the cluster those black clips will release the clear over it will still have the bezel attached but you should be able to reach inside and get ride of the dust you are after... they can be a pain but if you start from the outside and work your way across you should be able to get it no problem... also a lil tip get something small enough to fit but not to big to add unneeded stress that you can put between the bezel and the main body of it when it separates so it won't clip back in as you work across...

here is a picture for reference on the bed extension
