Got to Tennessee (from California) today. Got on average 12MPG :boom: I'm just glad gas is cheaper here. It's not 50 bucks to fill up anymore lol.

Man I gotta find a place here in Edmonton with a heated garage or maybe pay somebody to use theirs. I have half a dozen projects to finish and I'm too much a weenie to work in the cold on my trailer park driveway.

Welcome to the south, I moved from San Diego 19 months ago and I love it here except for the Mosquitos and humidity.

Haha, mine started doing that when I first lifted the truck. That was over 60K ago.

And plenty of abuse has happened since then. I do inspect them regularly, expecting to find one or both have fully let go. But not so far. They are still on there, still seeping grease.

I think you can run it that way for now with no worries. Do something about it when the boots finally do tear.

No more taco life for me
went to put it into 4wd and nothing happened when i was getting my xmas tree

did a bit of reading, feared it was the actuator, hit it with a BFH. nothing.

drove home. remembered that between my last use in august I took out my bussman wiring harness from engine bay. opened hood, fiddled with some connections. that terrible sound of 4wd disengaging has never sounded so good in my life.

This is awesome. I assume it's a functional gas tank that you can switch over to (or does it on its own) when the main one runs out/low? Or is it essentially a spare gas can, mounted to the truck, to fill the main one when needed?
I'm sure I will never do it either way, but just the other day I was discussing how great it'd be to have a second tank on small truck like these. Even with the V6, it would give some very nice range.

The second tank is from a 1990 Ford F-150. There's a switch in the cab that powers the tanks fuel pump which sends fuel to the trucks OEM tank. I can carry a total of 37 gallons of gas. This should give me an off road range of about 350-400 miles. I'm going to Baja in a couple weeks so it should come in handy. I'm going with a few guys on motorcycles. So we're going to add some dry disconnects to the transfer line so we can refill the bikes along the way and not have to carry gas cans.

Here's a little more in my build thread.

Putting a hose clamp on them hoping it will last me this winter so I can work on it on the summer. Or until my boot dies on me.
