I think if somebody wants it, they're going to get it. Just like a tool box in a bed. No matter how you lock it down, if they want it, it's gone.

The good news is that it's a wide open top. A closed tool box lures in crooks like flies to honey because of the treasures that may hide inside. If this basket is empty, they know that all they will get is the basket and nothing else.

Those aren't the people I'm worried about honestly, those people can take the truck apart while I'm hiking. Most thieves are opportunists. I was thinking about just replacing your knobs and attachment system with torx bolts or some other inconvenient head as I don't really want to remove it all that often. Will think about it a bit more, really like the design though.

Yep, that's what I was thinking. Going to let it stew for a few days and then probably order. Don't want to come back to thread later mad about something I should have thought about and I'd like to get rid of the milk crate and bungees that are in my brand new truck right now.

Got mine today! The Powdercoating is flawless. Had a small dent/scuff from shipping, but that's not Chads fault. its very very good. Thanks again!

    Solid Powdercoating.

I planned on using my own aluminum slot nuts, and I think with the knobs loosened, the rack will be able to slide back and forth using these.
    image.jpg
All assembled. It's a little too wide to fit in the forward part of the bed with my softopper, but I think it will work at the rear if I move my softopper rail clamps a little. I'll probably rattle can the bolt heads.

Great product, and very good price. I'll post more pics when I get it installed. I love my softopper, but I am contemplating removing it just so I can use this. I'll put the topper back on for the camping trips.

So @squint0241 stopped by to adjust his coils, and I threw the rack on his truck to check it out. We got a camping trip coming up, so I don't wanna take my softopper off just yet. So I'm gonna let squint use it on this camping trip to try it out. Looks great and I'm sure it will come in handy for him. I will still try and fit it in the rear of my bed with the softopper on tho.

He's been throwing all kinds of stuff in there to see what fits! :D
It fits his propane water heater nicely and is a perfect height to use it. That was his main plan for it. I might have a hard time getting it back from @squint0241 !!!
