I agree. I was surprised when I took delivery of my 2015 TRD Sport that there was no lock and no temp display. I thought it was because I have the JBL & Nav was the reason. In order to see the temp I have to open the weather app. Very disappointed, however I am happy with the truck.

    Here's an official write up

    1. Remove A/C panel by gently prying underneath the back edges. It's held in by four clips in the corners.

    20151206_153625.jpg

    2. Unplug the white connector on the left of the A/C controls.

    20151206_153709.jpg

    3. Then unplug the black connector on the right side of the A/C controls.

    20151206_153724.jpg

    4. Take a break, you've earned it as long as you haven't broke anything yet. Have a beer while you check your fantasy team. Team's looking good so get back to work.

    5. Unbolt the 4 10mm bolts holding in the radio.

    20151206_153755.jpg

    6. Carefully remove radio by pulling up and outwards. It's only held in by plastic clips at the point.

    7. Unplug all necessary connections to remove the radio. There are 10 but Toyota tricked you and added wires that just connect back to the radio...well played Toyota.

    20151206_154110.jpg

    8. Carefully set your radio aside and check your fantasy team.

    9. Grab vodka instead of beer this time because Teddy Bridgewater is fucking you.

10 Time to play with my wiener.

    20151022_090813.jpg
His name is Charlie. You're disgusting.

    11. Get back to work to take your mind off fantasy and my wiener.

    12. Grab the radio connector from the top right corner of the opening.

    20151206_154127.jpg

    13. Then grab the connector from the hazard switch.

    20151206_154150.jpg

    14. The blue and green wires are new when installing the clock switch. The blue wire is pin 13 for this connector and the green is pin

    15. Use terminal connectors in the harness. Don't get cheap here and think you can be a hero and do it any other way because it will look like garbage and we will all laugh at you. The terminal connectors are part number- 82998-12690. You'll need 2 of them.

    16. Find the connector to the radio I mentioned above and find the white wire with blue stripe and the gray wire.

    20151206_154212.jpg 20151206_154225.jpg

    17. Connect pin 13 from the hazard switch connector to the blue and white wire and pin 14 from the hazard switch connector to the gray wire. However you connect them is up to you.

    18. You're finished so plug everything back in and reassemble and enjoy your new clock.

All this being said I am in no way responsible for damage to your vehicle or yourself. You are modifying your vehicle at your own risk so if you fuck up it's on you, not me. Have a great day and stop thinking about my wiener you sicko.

Finish the mod @shakerhood, it works 100%. Thanks to @adb243 for providing the info, and thanks to @nazlax10 for doing a simple write up with pics for us electrically challenged folks haha.

Now no more looking at my phone to see what time it is.

I am a bit disappointed to see that Tacoma owners have to go to this much trouble to get a simple clock in their trucks. I had a chance to drive a RAV4 for a day. And look what I found....

I wonder how the 3rd gen owners are handling it...

greeaaaaat... I totally failed at this mod.

Instead of putting the wire in pins 13 and 14, I put it in pins 1 and 2. Now I cant get them out.:bananadead::frusty:

I forgot to ask from before, but did you have to buy a new radio surround or did the clock fit in the same spot as that stupid Tacoma piece that is stock? Thanks!

Nope, pretty much just snaps into place ones you take off original one. It just takes time taking off that one part.
