    Does anybody have acceleration problems with their 2016 TRD Tacoma? There seems to be a significant delay when applying accelerator.

    Auto or Manual?....With VVT there is a built in delay...My manual has a slight delay but otherwise its a strong engine for a six banger...

    It's an automatic. When accelerating it seems like a two or three second delay before the engine responds. When driving at highway speeds, it feels like the engine is bogging down while accelerating. It drives a lot better with the ECT PWR on. Unfortunately you loose the overdrive in this mode.

    The only way to fix this for now is to use the slap shift feature from what I've read. I wouldn't know for sure, I have a manual and I feel that I have good response and power. Hopefully there will be a shift point update for you automatic guys

    The 3.5 has no low end. It comes alive in the upper RPM range. What you are feeling is just the normal characteristic of the new V6. When I go WOT from a dead stop it falls on it's face but starts pulling hard around 4,500 RPM or so.

    It just is what it is... It's really not THAT much different than any other automatic V6 on the road in my opinion. However, I will admit it is more pronounced. They just programmed the auto transmission to REALLY try and stay at low rpm's for increased mpg's. And like others said... its a 3.5 V6 that gets all of its power over 4k rpms (completely normal for a NA 3.5 V6) so don't expect it to pull down low.

    The 6mt is the only solution at this point

    Perfect for a truck. Put a load in it, gotta rev it to 4 grand to go anywhere. Just kidding. Doesn't pressing the ECT get the truck going better off the line?

    I think this guy has a serious problem. He should know the feeling of lag after pressing the throttle pedal.

    Or maybe he's really pressing the brake and he doesn't know it...

    My first 400 miles was really bad. The truck was so tight I b thought I had an issue also. Now at 1000 miles it's much better
