It's a good thing I'm rebuilding this whole area. The old motor mounts pushed in the frame close to 1/4".

The next project was to cut off the old motor mount and make new ones. When I cut off the old mounts I noticed that the frame was pushed in. So I ended up cutting up some steel and welding it in. To keep it simple with the new mounts I cut up some 2"X 2"X 1/4" square, 1/4" plate for the ears and some 3/16" for a back plate. Tomorrow I'm going to take the pieces to work to weld them up with some better rod and welder.

Way easier than rebuilding both sides of the motor mount!

I had to plate my driver side after the mount tore a hole in the frame.

I did another piece that went vertical up the tower a couple inches.

If you haven't done it yet, you probably have some cracks in the mounts already.

I rebuilt the stock mounts using a leaf spring bushing years before it put a speed hole in the frame.

I don't have a pic of them but similar to the ones bonzen sells.

I got the new motor mounts all welded together. The welder at work works so much better then the one at home.

Oh. Yeah I didn't expect to see how far the mounts pushed in the frame. Plus mine was just a DD with a 4 banger. Who knows how the 3.4 off road trucks look like.

Nice pic. I'm trying to figure out where to locate the mount for the limit strap to the old sway bar clip on the LCA. I just don't want it to interfere with my future TC bucket gussets :D

 From the coil bucket to the inside of the TC gusset. It's 2 1/4" and the gusset is 1/4" thick.
