What did you pay for your 1st gen?

2000 2.7 4x4 reg cab. Had 157k miles on it when I got it.

I figure if i make it to 300k its a damn good deal to go 150k miles for 5500.

6500 bucks looked up the vin number before I got it and made sure I got a new frame first month I had it.



First day I had it.

04 White Single Cab Base 4x4, 2.7, 5 speed. Bought in September 2015 with 179,000 miles. Paid $8,000. 1 day later I realized the AC compressor wouldn't engage because of a leak, had the system recharged and a week later, the Compressor failed. Also, the Check engine light came on 3 days later for a missfire on cylinders 1 and 2 and IAC vavle, so I started replacing normal stuff like plugs, coil packs, fuel filter, cleaned MAF and throttle body, new IAC valve. Still had the light on and throwing missfire codes. Turns out burnt exhaust valves on cylinders 1 and 2. Used car lot I bought it from is "taking care of it" under there 3 month internal power train warranty problem. Who knows what it will be like when I get it back. This is a second truck for me and I had big plans for it, so I am hoping for the best with the engine work. At this point though I will be keeping it regardless because it took for ever to find a white single cab and the truck is clean and in good shape other than the AC and engine problems. I have also put a decent amount of money into it too so I can only keep going from here until its right.

Exactly haha. If I were to try and sell it at this point, I would have just gotten screwed on a truck I want, spent time and money fixing it and then set someone else up for a good deal. Because I doubt I could sell it for much more than the $8,000 I initially paid for it stock.

I got $9500 for a trade when I bought my 2010. It was a 2003 ac auto v-6 4x4 with 200k on it.

 

"SR5" use to mean sport rally 5 speed, pertaining only to vehicles with the 5 speed manual transmission. It is just a base level trim package now... It is misleading and meaningless as it has nothing to do with the transmission.

 

This year I bought a 03 extended cab 2.7 5 speed 4x4 with air and cd player no other options 130000 miles in very good condition for 10000

2001 Toyota Tacoma w/ 185,000 Miles.

New replaced frame. Had it for two years and some change and only had to do regular repairs and care. Bed is rusted but hopefully I can take care of that before anything bad happens. I think I got a decent deal. It's shy of 200,000 miles now.

Have since put a little under 2k into it.
