I bought my truck in January. It is not paid off. I took the 0% loan for 3 years, which makes for a steep monthly payment.

Whether or not to pay it off is tough financial question for me.

I'm philisophically against having any kind of car payment. I went about 10 years without one and know what a good feeling that is. I really want this payment out of my life.

On the other hand, it is hard to justify drawing down savings to pay off a 0% loan. Were a financial rainy day to come along, a man with cash has some options. Turning a depreciating truck into cash is more complicated.

I only have 5 1/2 years left on mine to pay it off! Really, though we will double up here after a while. Didn't have much down, they only offered me $300 for my 96' 4x4 Cherokee. I did not take that and sold it for $1K, everything still worked on it with cold A/C. It was needing a lot of TLC and repair money coming up though + it had 273K on it too. But I still think it is worth it to get my Tacoma, the color I wanted, 4x4, DC, TP, OR, etc. Now if I can just make it last like I do all my stuff that will be a good thing. :)

Put a big down payment got 4.9% interest Toyota Financial Services offers you an incentive if you make a minimum of I think 9 payments on your loan with them they will give you either a 1/4% or 1/2% lower rate on your next Toyota loan so I will pay it off in a year.
