Is anybody running aftermarket wheels that are 17" with a -12 offset? Discount Tire has a decent deal on some 17x9's with that offset. They're saying that they'll stick out way past the fenders, but it's less than a half inch off of dead center, not including back spacing. Can I trouble anyone for some pictures?

Offset is relative to backspacing. All wheels with -12 offset will not stick out as far as other wheels with that offset. They won't look weird at all, may move them out an inch from where they are with the stock wheels. -12 is one of the most common offsets. If you like the way the wheel look, then just do it. why are you nervous?

The only way they won't be the same is if they're different widths. A 17x9 with -12 offset will look exactly the same as any other 17x9 -12 offset wheel.

Thats true with in the same brand, but 17x9's -12's from different brands have varying backspacing and offset combos….

OP tires will make a big difference on how far your assembly moves out too. just to consider

If a 9" wide wheel has a -12 offset than it has a 4.5" backspace. Wheel brand has nothing to do with the math. You can't have a 9" wide -12 offset wheel with anything other than a 4.5" backspace.

So, yeah. -12mm = 4.5". I don't mind if they stick out a little. I don't want them tucked inside the fenders anyway, but I'm not from Hawaii either. No offense guys!
