so totally on the fence on what to do. mainly a camping truck, but i do drive it hard. and currently i am on stock bumps and its a hard hit when they hit lol

now i just want a nice ride when i hit the whoops and bumps. never had hydro bumps before so how do they ride every day? clunk clunk? quite?

    Thanks

so i was looking at these. have heard great things [IMG]

and these, more high tech, but might be worth it. [IMG]

Hydro bumps for sure! I've had both...you don't hear the bumps hitting at all.

If you're hitting whoops and bumps at speed, hydro bumps all day long. If you're just cruising down trails at say, under 20 mph for the most part, superbumps are pretty good as well

kinda both lol. it all depends on who i am following. i generally drive to fast and always hitting the bumps. already running icon fronts with TC uppers, rear are OME with custom rear shock setup for longer shocks.

what length of bumps are you running?

Big difference in price to compare the two. Superbumps are a cheap easy install, just try them and if you still spank them hard, go to hydros. Can sell the superbumps easily.

yea totally different prices. way different lol. not to worried about the cost as i would just rather do it once. i could make the brackets but currently i have more money then time. and would rather just buy the brackets and some bumps, but i think i would get the other one to hold king bumps

my main concern was how it sounds and feels. i was in a old truck with them and it seemed like i could hear the damn clunk of them hitting over every bump.

If you're constantly on the bumps and really want to solve the issue, rather than band-aid it, go long travel / spring under axle in the rear.

yea i have some other issues. RTT, rear bumper with tire swing out. i am a little underdampend now, i need to revalve my shocks but also want to change those out a bit to pick up some that have adjustable rebound/compression so i can mess with it when my truck is loaded.

and yea, having a spring over has its issues but not sure i want to go spring under as i like having the ground clearance :D

pic of the overly heavy truck (on left)

and in this pic you can see how much up travel i have.

I have an RTT and a 35 on a swing out. My rear LT sags less than my spring over set up did.

Ok, OP, I see your issue already. You didnt cut down your U bolts with the Flip Kit and are using the stock bumps. The bunps stick up past the U bolts just barely, so you are using your ubolts as bumps lol. Cut those U bokts down and get Superbumps to start

sorry i should have mentioned that, was a pic when i did the ubolt fip but before i cut them down :D have made that mistake on an older toyota and ended up pushing all 4 ubolts in an outward pattern lol, made it very fun to cut off.

my setup isnt really sagging though. the springs hold up the weight fine. i would say its more under dampend currently, and being that, when it does hit the OEM bumps, its a hard hit. if hydro bumps are not noisy i can go with that, and if i am still not happy i can look into custom deavers, just not at that point yet, as i think i would rather upgrade the front first as its just a mid travel currently.

Haha ok, yea I did the same thing and thought the stock bump was stiff enough to not deform an inch lol. I would look into revalving your shocks and getting wheelers superbumps. If you are slamming bumpstops alot, as said above, a set of hydrobumps is just a bandaid on a gunshot wound, your shocks aren't valved correctly for your weight in the back and all hydrobumps are gonna do is slow down your frame from breaking lol, but sooner or later your gonna take another hard hit and BEND.

I would upgrade the rear first, brother. It's been said a million times, a Mid travel front and Long travel rear will out perform the opposite any day of the week. You can definitely get a spring under set up that can handle your weight and perform MUCH better. Sounds like you like to mob it around a bit, so I would suggest a good extended travel MT front and spring under axle rear. You could probably get away with stuffing smaller shocks in the back and maintain your bed, or go full blown bedcage, but I think you'll be alot better off in that situation.
