Corner light interchangeability?

Just curious if the headlights from 95.5-97 98-00 and 01-04 are interchangeable. I think I read somewhere that they aren't, but I don't see why not.

 

Corner lights or headlights? Cause the thread says corner lights but you wrote down in your quote headlights.

 

Both headlights and corner lights are a lot more involved than just swapping them out. The headlights mount to the radiator support in 3 different ways (respective to each era). They are also not interchangeable if you do not change the grille.

Same can be said about the corner lights. Each respective era's corner light matches up to its respective grille. You might be able to make it work, unlike the headlights, but it would look pretty janky IMO.

The 95-97 corner lights are mounted via two exterior screws and one interior screw.
The 98-00 corner lights are mounted via two interior screws.
Not sure about the 01-04 but I think they are similar to the 98-00.

Those interior tabs/screw mounts vary amongst the three eras.

And to make it even more convoluted, things vary slightly amongst 2WD and 4WD in each respective era.


So I guess I should ask... what are you trying to accomplish?

 

My bad, I typed the first post wrong. I just meant the corner lights, not headlights. I know headlights would not work without core support modification and a different grille. I was looking to see if I could mount some of the eBay 01-04 smoked corners with white reflectors on my buddies 97, since nobody sells ones like that on eBay for the 95.5-97's

 

the 01-04 mount with two "push in" tabs and one screw to hold the little arm over the grille section. so I would conclude they are not interchangeable without doing everything else
