Misunderstood...sorry. I would not say I never push the 10% over the limit the police will give you up here but it does get expensive on this side of the 49th for speeding and up here the highway speeds are expected to be followed. You might get a free pas at say 65 when the limit is 60 but anymore than that and you could easily be spending $250 and three points in a hurry. For the little gain in time it just isn't worth it. Same conditions in towns.

If you really want to achieve decent gas mileage I think the first place to look is your driving habits. My Tacoma with the current fuel consumption gauge clearly helps in that regard of you pay attention to it.

Just hit 1000 miles with 3 tanks of gas and 99% of my driving is done in 4H. Way better than my Jeep

Just did over 600 miles round trip last weekend and averaged 23.4 for the trip - with the Cruise set at 75 most of the way. by the time I got home, it said average speed 73mph for the return leg - which was 293 miles non-stop.

6 tanks of gas in. V6, 6 Speed AT, 4x4, SR5 (Quicksand). Pretty light on the pedal most of the time. Mostly back road driving. I'd say 75% back roads (not city) 25% highway. I increased tire pressure to 36.

I've come to the conclusion that the OR gets way crappier gas mileage than the sport or SR5. ohh well, it looks good

So your average is 22.4 MPG but your best is 21.2 MPG! o_O

    How does that work?

Believe Average is showing your most recent mileage since last hitting Update. If he hit update right after taking that picture, the best would probably increase.

Best for the latest drive...average of a number of trips since last fill would be my guess.

The "best" isn't updated until the next fill up (if it ends up the best). The average is the current tank.

Ah, ok! So the "Best" is the best tank average you've seen and the "Average" is the current tank.

I think I got it! I haven't even looked for that screen yet.

Here is mileage in my 4x4 access cab OR. Has had wheel spacers since 75 miles. Been leveled with bigger tires for 300 of the 1500 total miles.

At 60mph and cruise set, what gear do your guys' tacomas run in? Mine stays in 5th and never upshifts.

Maybe it is just my driving but my DCSB OR with M/T seems as if it has increased mileage after the 1000 mile mark. I'm sure there is some explanation but driving the same roads i have seen my average increase by almost a full 1 mpg over when it was brand new.

16 DCSB OR 500+ miles AT, 20.3 MPG average. I run combo city/highway about 40/60. Not bad, my last Toyota a 96 4runner limited would get 17mpg no matter where or how I drove....wish I could remember what I used to get with my 84 xcab 4wd 5 speed, 3 inch lift and 33"s think it was the old 22r, what a tank...made out of recycled coors cans..

I miss my 86. I had 33x9.5 tires on it. No clue what it got for mileage. Not sure why I worry more about mileage now that I actually make a decent living than I did back then when I was broke. I should try and be more like the guy I was then.
