Gotcha, just asked Brian I'll see what he says

edit: Brian just said that he was able to get only the frame brackets from 4wu since they don't make a kit for the ford d60. But only because someone wanted the axle brackets like you said @Supra TT He also said they make a diamond kit which is not to terribly different from the ruff stuff housing so that may be a route to go.

Here's what I'm thinking for the rear of the 85. Chevys 63s with double shackle rear hangers paired with some new shocks. Yukon chromoly axles and ECGS 5:29 3rd with ARB locker.

    Any thoughts, better options.

I would avoid double shackles. They like to unload when braking and going downhill making things unpredictable

Good to know. How long of shackles are you're running?

Thanks. And if I remember correctly from your build thread, you made them yourself, correct?

Yep, super simple. They are 6" eye to eye, 9" overall, 2" wide, and I wanna say 9/16" holes

Thanks. From what I've read 9/16" is correct for the holes. Appreciate the help!

Rear crossmembers and bumps, nothing's final just mocked up until we can flex it good enough to get final locations.

I need hydro assist ASAP. It's hard to turn the steering wheel in 4wd and I'm hoping the ram will act as a steering stabilizer and tighten things up on the road as well. Can the stock power steering pump can handle it? The IFS steering box is leaking, so I need to figure out how to replace seals and drill and tap it for the hydro assist instead of buying a new box. Wondering if I should just add the ram and wait to upgrade the power steering pump until/IF I have an issue with it. Any thoughts? Going to make this a daily driver for a while and a light weekend wheeler. Looking at Trail Gear's ram. Any better options?

Got the 3.4L with 4.88s and 37s- is that the correct ratio? Doesn't seem bad at all with the 5 speed but I don't have much to compare it to coming from a V8 Tundra. They don't make 5.29s for the Dana 44.

I also have a howl/whine with a rumble/vibration while on the gas. My tundra had a burned up ring gear and sounded somewhat similar, but didn't have the rumble. Could it be the Detroit lockers that I'm not used to? Pinion flange? It's noticeable at all speeds. Detroits are coming out and ARBs going in this week, so it should be obvious when the third is pulled and dug into. Just thinking out loud.
