    If the vibration goes away when you shift into 4wd it is the needle bearing. No need to replace other parts or search for different lifts. Only fix I know of is to remove the lift or to install the part in the link posted above. I still feel this is one of the biggest failures of Toyota to not have fixed on the third gen.

    Ha. No secret. Figured the guy was pretty stressed so was going to offer a call and explain what I wrote above. Listen to nevadabugle. Shift into 4wd if it stops get the bushing.

    It stops when in 4 wheel drive. What is frustrating to me us the truck doesn't even have 300 miles on it. I was looking at the part from east coast gear supply, can you link me to the correct part for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD off road? Will I have to realign the truck after I install this part? Thanks for the help.

    Sorry to hear that but that is the tacoma. Their are a few stories of guys getting a tight diff but no one I know. Below is the link. I believe toyota did not change front diff so this should fit. Maybe another member can chime in. I welded up my own puller but the hassle is not worth not just buying the one they offer. Took about 2.5-3 hours labor working slow and clean. Below is the link.

    You'll get used to the vibration...lots of us with a second generation never bothered installing the bushing and just dealt with the vibration. Any time we lift trucks and take them out of factory specs these types of things happen. I just wish Toyota would have addressed it for the 2016. Oh well, I can learn to live with it again, or if it bothers me enough use the part already discussed.

    I took the leveling kit out and no vibration. Gone!

    Left my 18" Moto metal rims. Went to a smaller tire - 275/65 R18. Running that on stock suspension and having no problems and no rubbing. Very pleased.

    Yep. There is no front differential in a 2wd truck, so no needle bearing to vibrate. Lucky 2wd bastards....

    The needle bearings don't care if it is 5100 or any other lift. Lifting is lifting when it comes to putting unintended angles on the needle bearing. From my forays in the 2nd gen world it is more about amount of lift and luck of the draw if you will have the problem. Seems like the higher you go with the lift the more likely you will have the vibration, but some were lucky with the second gens and had a full 3 inches with no vibes. Me? I lifted my second gen 1.5 inches with OME 883 coils and had it between 32-38 MPH.

    You are absolutely correct. If I had to do it again I'd try the 5100's.

    I'm going stock suspension and nicer wheels and rims and am quite satisfied.
