Is there a difference between mud guards with and without fender flares?

I think the only model that does not have fender flares is the SR. If you have an SR then get the ones without the flares.

My SR5 does not have flares, and I need a set for that configuration. Weathertech is supposed to have theirs the middle of Jan. Can someone tell me if Toyota is making two different sets. One for flares and one for without?
Weathertech has different part numbers for the different configurations.

Everything that I have read concerning mudguards states that the Appearance Package is required on the SR5 (which includes overfenders). I don't think you can get overfenders on the SR with any package.

    Short answer:

To use the factory mudguards, you need the overfenders for proper fitment.

I got rokblokz for my 2016 and I don't care for them. They don't look too horrible, as the rally style flaps are growing on me, I just think they could do better with the mounting personally. They're very nice people though, easy to do business with.

You make some good points. But they are great for protecting spray onto the side of the truck tho!!!!

That's what I'm getting too. I'm going to go with the Weathertech's when they are available. Not putting the flares on the truck.

So far, just a Hard Hat tonneau cover. Looking for mud guards and nerf boards.
Just ordered a set of 4. $85 + $13 shipping. I want to get them on before the bad weather hits. Still nice in PA.

Look at these pictures of my SR with no fender flares and the stock mud flaps, there is a gap between the mud flap and fender! I took pictures of the stock ones before I put the rokblokz on!

That black truck in the pictures looks like to me that it DOES have the flares. Here's mine without.

Yes I did pay $142.50 for my set. They were the individual flaps and the guy went out of his way to get them for me.
I had mine 3 weeks ago and don't regret it. No chips on my paint. And they look and fit great.
In fairness to the guy on ebay, I think you should mention that his cost on individual flaps vs the flap kit, which is still unavailable, was substantially different.
Yes they are the same flaps, but he doesn't make up the prices, Toyota does. The guy has a right to make a living.

    Thanks! All the best!

I had the exact same set I purchased off a member and put them on temporarily until I got better ones. They leave a nice 1/2" gap if you don't have a plastic fender flare....

Did these basically just bolt up without having to move any other parts/hardware out of the way?

Yep bolt up, no hardware. Use the current bolts in the fender well!
