    2 ten inch kicker cvt subs, pioneer deck and alpine 1000 watt class D amp, and flowmaster exhaust, 4 inch camburg lift spindles and my coilover is adjusted to 1" (5inch total) in front and 3" All Pro leafs, KING off road racing reservoir shocks and coil-overs, KR FAB CUSTOM BUMPER with three 9" HELLA 4000 Race LIGHTS , HID headlights with rigid amber LEDs , "KR Fabrication" custom built bumper, sliders and tiregate, Full size spare with matching rim, custom bed bar with two amber off road lights, cb radio, also BHLM (thanks Ray), and debagged
    Ay I see all the snorkals people are running in there trucks... And I know it's obviosly used for keeping water out of the intake while submerged... But I came accross someone the other day who has one on his preunner and said he actually put it on cuz the truck will run cleaner..?? Instead of having a the intake closer to the bottom... It could be up top so it could take the cleaner air as opposed to all the dust and shit from the bottom..?? Does this make sense or am I completely talking outta my ass haha

    when running trails, a snorkel allows the engine to breathe air above the dust level from the vehicles in front.

    but does it work or a waste of money..?? i have a AEM intake... can the snorkal work with it..??? or is an intire new intake sytem..??? thanks for the help...

    Yes it does. When My buddy did it to his truck, I kinda harassed him a bit. After an 8 hour run, we got to BS'ing, and he said "Pull your filter out", so I did. My Filter had more sand than I could belive in it. AND we werent on a very sandy trail. His was a little dusty. It convinced me...

    ohhh... ill deff take it to a custom shop in cali ill just have to look.... any suggestions on how i should go about doing this..?? im still debating on if i still wanna do it..??? do u guys think its really necessary im still debating on if i wanna drill a big ass whole in the fender..??

    I don't know how the fenders/airboxes/anything on the second gen look/are located. But as soon as I get a stock airbox, I'm gonna go make an internal snorkel like this:http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_openwiki&Itemid=60&id=wiki:internalsnorkel

    Cheap. Easy. Deckplatable. Probably won't need to replace my filter in years since I'd be sucking air from the cab. If it's good enough for my lungs, it's good enough for my truck :D.

    Anybody see any downsides to this I'm not seeing?

    Edit: besides engine noise...I actually like listening to aspiration.

    Ah. Definitely did not think of that.

    I suppose I would only run it if I'm offroad, so maybe have a quick way to switch between deckplate and snorkel would be in order.

    Hmm...maybe... TWO DECKPLATES?

    I might just be making my intake setup too confusing and inconvenient...I'll just stick with a cold air intake for now then.
