oh well....shit happens, you live and you learn. the guy I bought the truck from is pretty cool, he knows the guy he bought it from, so he's gonna ask him if it was swapped at all or not. Im thinking it was. From what im reading, I guess the early model ones dont have the lower truss gusset or something? if so I may have to return the studs I bought from LRO in exchange for their 82-85 PU studs

oh trust me, they're not lol, unless Dorman is worthless and horrible. Dorman Rock Auto Replacement for a 1980 PU front 4wd stud vs on the right, the stud that came off the truck

610-244, I think those may be for the 2wd even though they dont say it

these were the ones I was looking at on LRO, but I called them and they have ones for the 79-81 axles, so I dont know what those are gonna be like, but if the axle turns out to be 82-85, Ill have to return them. Im pretty sure at least the rears I got from them will be the correct ones

well actually, someone suggested that it may be an 85 axle because the gusset runs all the way past the ubolts.

EDIT: ya, ive got 2 people saying it looks like an 85 SFA

My rims came in the other day and there are these little plastic ring pieces that fit perfectly in side the hub of the rim. Any idea what they are for? I've never seen them before.

Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
From my understanding 1980 was the cut over year on hub design. I actually have mis-matched hubs on my Runner, either style will work. 99 times out of a 100 if I ask for parts for a 1989 4Runner I get the wrong part, I just ask for an 1985.

    Here's the two hubs.
