If it's any consolation, and I know it's not and nobody gives even a tiny rat's ass, but BR would have been my second choice.

Well since everyone is around now haha how are you guys planning to keep the red from fading? I'm hearing from multiple people that red fades faster then other colors.

Based on my past history, trade it on a 2018? Had a black 07, nautical blue 12 and now a barcelona red 16. Guess super white or magnetic gray is next.

I think they're basing that on red paint from 15 years ago or more. Modern paints are much better and red doesn't fade or oxidize like it used to. I had a 1980 Datsun 200SX (yes, I am that old) and within two years it looked almost pink. Took a lot of work to bring it back to red again. But I've had two very bright red MINI Coopers since 2006, still have a 2005 model and it still looks fantastic.

I had a 94 Ranger that looked great for at least 10 years in "fire engine red". Before it went to "dull". No worries on the new Tacoma.

Just waiting for brackets for some Nerf bars I have in the garage - thinking of wheels/tires, and possible stereo upgrade (but retaining stock HU)...

That's very considerate of you, but I was just hoping to get some more diversity around here. There's only 8 pages and probably a dozen examples, whereas most other colors are on page 20 or 30something. I'm particularly hoping someone will post an SR Access Cab in red. Thanks anyway though! You should post up more regardless.

I have a long history with professional car cleaning. I'm a paint freak. The reason red fades faster is because oxidation removes iron. Red has the heaviest content of iron comprising the color's makeup. So it's the most susceptible to the sun's wrath. One poster above is correct though, clearcoat paintjobs have dramatically reduced this issue. But keep in mind that all colors are clearcoated now. So the average age of healthy paint is much longer as a whole. But when you analyze color-against-color, red will still age faster than its rivals.

Ugh…I officially order my tacoma tomorrow, and STILL on the fence between Inferno and red…and I'm not old lol! I will be blacking out a ton of things including adding black trd pro rims.
    Ohhhh the decision :annoyed:
