What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

LoL I know. I think mine had +100k miles on them when the truck started bogging.

 

My bad it's actually 50K or more but I guess it depends on how hard your on the engine. But I would change them out at that mileage period.

 

Who has the TC gussets for the shock buckets? I saw a couple on here over the last few months and I can't find the build.

Yes, my old diesel makes plenty of power. I sold it to a friend of mine and he has plans to use it for tractor pulls. That old Ford can really pull. I miss it, just never was able to use it.

 

Any tips on removing plastic dip?
Started to take off the PD on my hood and some of it is very difficult, we used WD-40, carb cleaner, pressure washer, and sponges, after 2 hours of work we've gotten most of it off but some if it (Where the heat from the engine soaked it) is very stubborn.

 

I bought ngk single electrode plugs..Napa used their know how and give me those. Even though the sticker on the timing cover clearly states to use dual electrode plugs I went with it. Drive to Washington and can't pull a hill in 4th gear..after cussing I see the ngk part number (dual electrode) on lowrangeoffroad.com..go back and have Napa give me the right damn plugs. I checked gaps but they were good out of the box. Now she runs like the wet dream she was when she was young. Moral of the story= pony up the extra 40¢ and get the duallys

Try laucer thinner or 70% alcohol. That might help you out. But go VERY light on the laucer thinner don't want any of your paint and clear coat to come off.

 

I haven't changed mine in 20k I don't know what brand came it...

Actually I was going to dilute acetone and try it on a cloth.

 

Very light coats haha, ate right threw the dip on my chrome

 

Update: It started first time no problem this morning. Does that mean the alternator wasn't charging the battery so it was dead? This is weird.
