That would be my guess. My steelies have the plastic ring.

 

Your front axle is an 1984 or 1985 which has the gusset passed the u-bolts.

81-83 short gusset (to u-bolts)
84-85 long gusset (past u-bolts)

thank you so much! thats what I was under the impression of. Just wasnt sure exactly what "gusset" I was looking for since im so inexperienced with SFAs. I have the 2nd type of hub that you linked. I ended up returning the other rotors I bought and im gonna have to return studs I bought from Low Range Offroad when they get here. I ordered some 83-85 OEM style rotors and 82-85 front wheel studs. Im thinking the rears will be fine for the ones that I bought. I dont think there's a difference. or at least the rear axle should be the 80 rearend

 

Get some FJ60 axles and just redo those. Seen a couple of guys do it

 

I don't know a lot about the earlier rear axles. The later model IFS rear axles are actually more desirable because they're wider.

 

What stuff do you have to take off? I may have a little time

 

I'll see what time I can come up with. Most of that stuff can stay on to derp. Would probably take way more time just pulling it then to maybe just throw some newspaper around everything else. I should be good for at least a couple hours on the 26th

 

I gotta re-do my ARB bumper...Not sure when I'm gonna do it tho.

Well my truck wasn't the problem my s5 needed to be factory reset. I couldn't hook up to any devices

Well here I am sitting at the Toyota dealership trying to get the spark noise TSB done lol
Of course they said that it might be due to my intake among other things needing cleaning and that service is on sale for $189 lol
I think I will def decline that service when they return (I hate coming here)
Also said there will be a $65 diagnostic charge (waived if it ends up being warranty related) I wasn't really expecting to hear that. Anyone else been told this? The guy said only about 30% of tacos actually need the TSB done (to which I assume in my mind the other 70% get slapped with the $65 fee lol)

 

You would think the diagnostics would be covered under the drive train warranty.
I made an appointment for Monday, hope they don't tell me the same thing.

 

They should take care of it free of charge. When I approached the service desk back in June with my symptoms they told me about the TSB and would address it. That was the problem and after they flashed the ECM it's been good.
