Window Tint

I will be ordering a TRD OR DCLB and was wondering about tint. Do the back windows come tinted from the factory?

 

I just got mine Monday, they are tinted but not much. I'm not sure of the exact %.

 

Most from the factory tint is around 70% and depends on the dealer/region in my experience. Some get it, some don't.

You're better off if it doesn't come with tint if you plan on changing it because a shop will typically have a charge for removing the current tint before putting on whatever you want.

I'll also throw a http://tintlaws.com/ reference in here so you can look up your state's legal tint levels and hopefully not be that guy driving around with limo tint and endangering others.

My TRD OR DCSB had the rear windows tinted. The dealership I got the Taco from did the tinting on the front windows.

 

The he back windows are shaded glass, so the actual window glass is darker. I'm not sure what % it is but I did the fronts at 45% and the back is still darker, I'd say somewhere in the mid 30's.

 

My guy metered the rears at 26%. Installed Suntek Carbon 25% and it is a really close match.

 

the rears is just a privacy glass that doesnt provide any uv protection. 18% will match it perfectly.

From the outside the front is just a shade lighter; from the inside it all matches.

 

Like the others said, comes with that light tint in the rear. Your local tint shop can easily tint over that if you want to go darker

 

I got 20% tint on the front, matches back stock windows just about perfect. No UV protection in the back but I never sit there.

 

Same here, back windows on the DC are tinted/smoked glass, etc from the factory and just had the dealer throw in tint on the front windows to match the rears and clear bra as part of the deal. I really think it makes the truck look so much better when the front windows are tinted to match the rears.

 

I had 20% tint put on mine. Hard to tell the difference from the factory in glass tint.

 

I tinted the front windows on my sport in an attempt to match the back. 20% seems pretty close.

what are you guys paying for the tint jobs up front?

 

I had a buddy of mine do it who does it for a living. He did the tint and vinyl letters for $60, and of course some beer

Other companies in my area would charge at least $100 for the tint alone.

 

$75 for the two front windows, lifetime warranty

 

Tint Masters in Montclair does the best work and they charge 20 per glass surface.

Like others have said, the rear windows are DIED glass and NOT tinted like we all know the word tint to be a film over the glass.
