Oh I never said it was a law in any area of Mississippi and the fact is, I don't know if there is any Mississippi law on hidden compartments but, I don't only drive in Mississippi.

Most of my water clothes have at least one zippered pocket. I just put my key in that. Seems like thats the cheapest way to me.....

FYI: the "Hidden Compartment" law refers to compartments that are not immediately recognizable as a storage area. Such as a speaker grill of fake radio faceplate that actually covers a hidden compartment. The hitch safe, console vault are all ok because you can tell its a storage area. For a cop to get in there is a whole other legal thing that I won't get into (probable cause, search warrant, inventory for towing purposes, etc.). Obviously this is geared towards drug and illegal weapons and such so as long as you're not a jackass, you should be fine. Although officer discretion comes into play also. At least that's how it is here in CA. Oh and yes, cops do know about this. Any traffic cop worth his salt knows the vehicle code like the back of his hand, not to mention specialized task force officers.

    Carry on.

I wonder how hard it would be to install a numerical keypad like Fords have and wire it into the electronic door lock system? Most electronics hate me so I wouldn't even know where to start but given the tech stuff some people have posted here I'm sure someone could figure it out.

    That's where I was going. Post #45.

    Don't know if it's doable? A feature I liked a lot on the few F150's I've had.

They should do finger print to unlock door, similar to the iphone 6 or a biometric safe.

Usually when I get out of my vehicle I secure my keys outside the vehicle... in my pocket.

Autoloc makes a keyless pad you can add on... Sold a few when I was working at StylinTrucks.com before they were shipped to the Philippines, but never heard any feedback good or bad on them.

I know the hitch has been mentioned, but I always have a ball in my receiver, and there is some space behind the actual hitch inside the receiver to stash keys...if you reach up from behind.
