    yup california, new york, new jersey. they're all in the same boat! it sucks when your government wont let you have the right to defend yourself. or makes it such an ordeal to simply own a gun that most people dont even want to go through all the red tape involved.

    are there any special rules/laws/restrictions (other than state-specific things) regarding buying and selling guns online that I should know about before making the new section?

    Generally Most sites seem to leave it to the buyer/seller to ensure all laws are being followed.

    Obviously just sticking a gun in the mail and sending it to someone is illegal. You have to ship it to a FFL dealer (any gun store) and then the buyer can pick it up from there. The FFL dealer charges a transfer fee and ( I think) re-registers the gun under the buyers name.

    yes. also would like to add how do you know the person you are selling the gun to isnt a felon? pretty sure they cant have guns. plus laws maybe somebody was selling a pistol and i said i was 21 and bought it? im only 18 in fl you gotta be 21 to have a pistol and to buy pistol ammo

    i learned that to ship it you have to ship it through a dealer, and some states arent allowed assault rifles, and any handgun that has more than 10 shots to a clip. but that was already said.

    If shipped to a FFL a NICS background check should be done, ensuring the buyer isn't a felon.
