Yes I did purchase it already lifted. And yeah I have no idea what kind of lift it has. I did post a new thread figured it would be the best way to get a response. Thank you for the help, much appreciated.

Brought my 05 to the dealer a month ago thinking it would only need the goop treatment since I couldn't find any holes in the frame. They called back a few hours later to say they found some holes so I won't see my truck again for about 6 months. It seems like some people get to drive their truck until the parts come in but others have it impounded by the dealer, not sure why that is. At least they got me a new Rav4 from Enterprise to drive through the Winter.

After reading this thread I'm worried about getting charged for extra parts. It reinforces my distrust of car dealers. Forgive this question as I'm a Tacoma noob, but why do they change the LCA's and not the UCA's?

No, Toyota will include these parts. Search this forum and you will find a parts list so you can review all parts. They also need to give it back to you in same drivable / road safe condition. If the Dealer balks - Call Corporate, report the issues and find another dealer.

I've already opened a case with Corporate since the dealer is totally useless on this. Awful experience stay away from Eastern Shore Toyota

I don't qualify for this recall, but I'm having my own issues with rust, out west. If your truck's rusty and it's not getting the necessary repair from Toyota, you should log a complaint with these two agencies. It's very easy & quick...

Got the call this afternoon to bring the Tacoma in on Monday for the frame swap. It's been just short of 4 months since they said it needed a frame. I'll see how well they do. Talking to the service manager on Monday about a new clutch install while they have the drive train out:eek:.

My understanding is that this time around Dana is responsible so Toyota is using settlement money to do the frames. Not gonna get a buy back

Toyota got $25 million in a suit against DANA, who no longer makes the frames.

It's crazy that 25 million is only enough to do ~2,000 frames...

Toyota got screwed in that on both ends. But so did a lot of us, too.

I noticed your list included upper control arms. Did they offer those up? Or was that another battle?

the dealer busted the upper control arm bolts when they were taking them off the old frame. dealer blamed the rust. shocking, i know. they replaced them, no issue, no fight, no asking. It just took 6 weeks to get the parts.

just heard back from my friend Danica. They are also going to pick up the cost of my transmission output shaft seal. 13 bucks. woooo.

Well I got the call today, truck is done. Had to get rear u joint replaced and driver's side rear axle seal fixed but one that before it went in for the frame. It has been at the dealership since last Friday. Will pick it up tomorrow and report back with outcome. So almost 7 months from it failed to replacement. Will see how it goes.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience. You didn't need new shocks?

Hello again, I just got home from picking up my , all I can say is WOW! What a difference, truck rides like new, had a bad rear U joint, now I know it was really bad, no more vibrations at any speed. Yes, I had to get new rear shocks. With the truck being lifted and all I never knew it was this quiet. As of now, great experience and really good service provided by my dealership.
