I haven't seen a chevy/gmc reg cab that wasn't a work truck with the god awful long bed. My parents have a newer reg cab dodge 1500 and that looks pretty nice. It's more sporty (think street truck) but I have seen then built up too. Most full size trucks really don't look that great but I do like the dodge.

Yeah I keep forgetting about the 2016s but they use to make regular cab both don't know much about the 3rd gens being I have my 2nd gen I don't really bother with looking into them since I don't really ever plan on getting one, but hopefully they do go back to making regular cabs I know a lot of people are huge fans of them

Kids grown and gone.....No need to accommodate them when I bought a truck. Then, there's that thing where you get wiser as you get older......So I bought a double cab and have never had to listen to an access cab rear door rattling.

Haven't made a reg cab Tundra since about 2010, no reg cab Tacoma since last year. Thanks CARB. To the people that are cracking on regular cabs, it shows you haven't been driving trucks all that long, that's all that used to be made...

My dad always owned regular cab trucks and I remember sitting on his lap while turning the steering wheel in empty parking lots. Heck, I remember riding in the back of the bed of his trucks. However; times have changed and child safety laws are strict. Been married for 4 years and plan on starting a family, which is why I bought a double cab.

All joking aside....I've owned a Toyota SR5 ('84 ) that was a regular cab, long bed. Liked it. (Maybe my favorite vehicle of all I've owned....) Then I bought an '86 extended cab short bed. Liked it very much. I was racing dirt bikes then, and did a LOT of travelling. The extra space in the cab was wonderful! Had a '92 extended cab. Next a '98 extended cab/short bed. I was golden with those too! Then a 2000 Tundra regular cab, long bed. Missed my space behind the seat.

In 2004, I bought a monstrosity.....A Dodge 2500 Quad Cab, Long Bed, Hemi/auto 4wd. I disliked the gas mileage from the 2nd day I owned it until it was gone 10 years later. But I fell in love with the huge cab. There wasn't but 4 or 5 times ever that someone actually rode in the back seat. It was mostly used for hauling groceries, packing hunting gear, and just hauling "stuff". But having the Super Dome for a cab had it's advantages.

So when I went looking for another Tacoma, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted a double cab. Access cabs have room, but the double cab has MORE room. Combine that with the fact that prior to my buying the Taco I now own, I spent a good many hours working on my neighbors 2009 Access cab, trying to get the rear doors to quit rattling. (He has a habit of slamming doors)

So....(A) I like the ROOM of a double cab. (B) I like the LOOKS of the double cab. (C) I didn't care a lot for the design of the rear doors on the access cab. The decision for me was a no brainer.....YMMV, and I hope you're as happy with YOUR choice as I am with mine. No interest in single cabs or access cabs any longer. I've found a better way.

I am always traveling from here to there on the highway, so I definitely needed the extra interior for passenger/bags/etc.

Mixed emotions on this one.....While I don't think SOME of the info being passed along is always "proper" or does it need to be said, I DO like the idea that this website allows a lot that would get you banned for life on so many other sites. I guess it's up to all of us to just pass on over the stuff we aren't interested in hearing. I've made myself a vow.....I'm not going to be that person who is offended by everything. I'm responsible for the morals and ethics of ONE person. When the day comes I can stand up and honestly say I NEVER say or do anything that offends others, THEN I can address what others have to say, and with that pass judgement on what is proper and what isn't.

Not advocating/condoning anyone elses behavior, just sayin' it's probably not MY place to set the standards of what is acceptable.

    I'm 24 with a DCLB and don't want kids.

I bought it because some things are best to have in a heated/air conditioned cab, so it gives me more space than an AC.

Unintended consequence is I have the roomiest vehicle and don't drink, so I am always DD.

Bought an access cab and wished a few days later till today I bought a 4 door.

My only child is grown and out of the house, her mom and I do a lot of outdoors things and quickly fill the little cab of my my truck. I've got a large plastic tote that holds the "gear", the cab gets the clothes, and items needing to be kept dry and safe.

When I was 24, I didn't want kids. But I had 1 on the way. After 2 kids, I wanted MORE. Never had any more. Now we have 5 GRAND kids, and I want MANY more.

Unintended consequence of being DD is you have SOME control over when it's time to go or if you want to stay.....Not at anyone else's mercy.....

I was more tongue in cheek with my post. I found it a touch weird, but funny.

There's been a Very high degree of "weirdness" here the last few days. Some of the most bizarre post's I've ever seen on the internet. Early signs of cabin fever maybe????

For me it's winter blues. Wake up its dark, drive home from work its dark. Lack of sun plays games with my head after a few months
