Those are the same reasons why I moved out into the county, the gf still lives in Canton though. You can usually find me in Clad's two or three nights a week.

Saw a super white regular cab with body armor rear plate bumper and a tan soft top today. Pennsylvania plates...

So, I am still trying to figure out what I want to do as far going back to a truck. Here are my needs: Backseat with room for car seat so a double cab on a Tacoma or at least access cab on a Tundra. I must have a 6' bed, I use my bed way too much to have a 5' bed. It doesn't seem like a huge difference but it is. I had a 6' bed on my regular cab and my business partner has a 5' bed on his Tacoma. I started to think about a first gen (2000-2006) access cab Tundra for a few reasons over a second gen DCLB Tacoma. The fuel consumption between the two is negligible and that is with the Tundra having the 4.7 V8. Their tow ratings are almost identical but I know a Tundra will not work as hard to pull the same amount of weight since the torque is much higher in the V8 and has a better curve. The first gen Tundra is still larger than a second gen DCLB but I don't think it would be too large for a trail, or at least the trails I would be on. I hate to think I need to go to a full size but it is starting to make more sense for me, we're starting to pick up more and more parts and steel and shortly I will need to purchase a car trailer to pick up bundles of 20-24' long tubing and skids of sheet steel.

My grandfather has a first gen Tundra, access cab, V8, TRD OR package and a 2011 DCSB Tacoma with the TRD OR package. I have driven both many times and it is night and day with cab space, power and comfort. I am 6'2" and I just don't fit comfortably in a double cab Tacoma unless the seat is all the way back and at that point, you're not putting a car seat or person behind me.

I looked around yesterday and 2000-2006 Tundras still sell for $15-$18k with low miles, crazy. Does this seem to make sense?

Makes perfect sense. The doors of the 2nd gen tacoma double cab are the smallest doors of any body style. Which means anyone over 5'10" is forced to sit behind the B pillar, which decreases visbility and makes it harder to get in and out. The regular cab has the longest doors and the Access cab splits the difference.

Tundra is pretty much similar in that the AC is best for taller people

I'm a huge fan of the old school Tundras. If you can find one at the right price I would go for it, I don't see a DCLB 2nd Gen Tacoma working for you: mainly the amount of metal you haul around + family space in the cab.

Life has been crazy for the past 6 months or so. Lol I've had practically no free time until recently..

I was up your way last weekend though. Went to the homebrew store on Market st up by the ice rink in Frederick.

Good to see not much has changed since I checked in last. The NoVa guys are still having monthly meetings at Hooters, Skygear is still getting his ass chewed out by people, and Mason still hasn't lifted his truck. Hahaha
