    After I... shackle flip, shock relocate, cmc, fender trim, flare trim, and re-gear. With a 4week core return window on the gears I decided to take some extra time off for the holidays to tackle it. Once they're on I'll install the rear bumper/skids, then dial in the ride height, and get an alignment. Lots of work with a bigass hammer after that.

    Okay guys need some help planing a trip and my build. I know most guys have a plan already but as for me Im clueless on how to budget it all. Heres the low down; Save for 1. Leer or Snugtop shell with sliding windoors, removable sliding front window, 2. Buy a used Shell in a different color without the windoors like I want but save money that way 3. Buy a used soft topper 4. Roof rack (prinsu) then buy rtt cvt with the money I save without buying an actual shell?
    I want to take my girlfriend on a trip for my birthday next summer after graduating with a bachelors before starting either Masters program or attempting Law school which would mean no summer for a looonnnggg time, drive from San Diego to Big Sur, Yellowstone, then continue to oregon and washington to visit some lakes and camp along the way. Then if time, money, and patience allows come back more inland and visit zion, moab, and grand canyon. Seems like a lot and I still need to plan out the camp sites along with buying recovery gear and other camp items to make sure Im safe and comfy but if it goes to plan it should be awesome.
    All inputs on my next budget choice, campsites, recommendations on other items Ill need or anything else please feel free to chim in! Especially if you are or have been to any of the places or states I want to visit.
    :help::cheers:

    if you have the means to do an RTT, i am a big fan. If you're not going to be doing anything after that summer for several years, though, it may not be worth your investment. Can't speak to the rest of the options, but I'd say go with whichever you'll get the most use out of in the next 5 years or so. After that, you'll prob be buying a new ride will all those law dollas

    Get an RTT. Your problem if you get a softopper is going to be wanting to upgrade to a shell soon. If you get a Prinsu rack prepare to want a rack for the shell too. I'm in that dilemma right now. The tent is the coolest thing I've bought for the truck and the main motivation I have to get out there and have fun.

    yeah man I was showing my girlfriend all about tacoma world and showed her your build and defcon and she loves the tent too, My only thinking about the soft topper would be to put stuff to allow us to travel so long and bring enough stuff. Plus leave the back seat open for taking naps when switching drivers. You think I should just save from now till then and try to get a shell and rtt? Some guy on here is selling a leer with sliding windows and sliding removable front window with a thule rack for $900 but its black. I just love windoors cus you can open the sides and grab stuff or something.

    Yeah I don't have windoors. Kinda wish I did. I'm swapping my windows out for something similar to this down the line though. Stealing the idea from @InTheRough. Seriously cool idea. I think I am just gonna do my driver's side window because I look out the passenger all the time to switch lanes and what not.

    that looks so fucking sick man! I wish there was a way to have a leer company take a used leer cap and rip the old windows out to install new windoors
