You could always take it off when you aren't using it so you can fit in the garage.

You are right. The weather here is... Annoying. In the spring there are dust storms, summer hail, and cold ass winters. My paint is still in decent condition, and I want it to stay that way! I have a thule roof box. I ended up taking it on and off every week. Got old fast.

I could see that getting annoying. My Camry and 4Runner are banished outside sadly.

Yeah he's got the lighter springs on them. Gonna need 600+. Probably running a hybrid bumper soon.

Toytec recommends 650 for bumper and winch, so 600 with a hybrid would probably work.

That first pic is only about an hour's drive from my home. Super busy up there though, I like to be away a little further from town and away from the crowds. Not hard to find gorgeous mountains and camping spots up here!
And I got rid of the CV's a few months ago - to another 4runner guy.

I want it to be - which is why I cancelled it last summer. The route I was planning is mostly scenic driving, no hard wheeling, and with all of the smoke problems we had you couldn't see anything. Kinda defeats the purpose of a scenic trip

here is the thread from last year's attempt, I'll probably update it soon to reflect this year's dates and stuff

It does suck not fitting in the garage. I don't exactly live in a bad neighborhood but there has been some petty theft over the years so I hate leaving anything in the car when I can't park inside. Plus it never stays clean!

If you start planning it I am in. I would have to fight to get the time off but it would be totally worth it though.

My preference would be to do it mid to late July but I'll throw a poll up so see what works for the most people. Can't do it any earlier as some of the roads don't open until 7/2 and any later its just not as pretty (for the photographers in the group who care about that sort of thing). Summer is rough for me to get a lot of time off but I'll make it work - working in the construction industry really puts a strain on my free time...
I'll add you guys to my contact list and tag you or PM you when I get things rolling again!

I will have to try to petition to get July off but I should be able to swing it I think. Sounds like CO a lot of the trails in the mountains are snow covered till July.

This year we got a huge late storm in May. There was snow in the high country till early July. The best time to be out in Colorado is August through October. Kids are in school, the rivers have come down, mountains are empty...

I'm hoping I can get some white water rafting in this year since it's so close.
