Oregon would be cool too. A lot to do out there as well.

I went in Canyon City this year so fun. The water is so much warmer down there. I am sure it would be easy to get a TW rafting trip through the royal gorge. Lots of people in the springs...

There can be a little snow up there. The two bigger reasons they keep the Gravelly Range closed is first for the elk - the local herds tend to hang out up there when the calves are born so they keep it closed to give them some peace and quiet. The other reason is the mud. I don't know what kind of dirt it is up there but once it gets wet it is nasty stuff - builds up on your tires and a vehicle can sink and get stuck really easy. I've nearly gotten caught a few times.

Pics of Toy on my annual 4th of July trek up there...

I don't have any pics of Runner in my gallery...will have to remedy that...

Kinda. I have a pic somewhere of my tires with 2" or so of mud built up on the treads. I had to keep stopping and scraping it off with a shovel  Once I got back to the dry road I tried to speed up and clear it off, was throwing mud for miles and miles!

    Looks beautiful!

    Clay is sticky
Silt is smooth (like dish soap)
    Sand is rough

I have a degree in dirt

I use white gas from the stove. Ain't nobody got time for kindling.

I am down. I went in September and the water was downright warm. Depends on the snow year we get too.

No....I love smileys!! Just the one you had up was constantly jumping around...made it hard to read your post. :D

I have a question about your tent? On one post you were talking about being a pain tearing down and setting up camp...and moving every night to a new site. Is that because the tent is difficult to setup/tear down or were you talking about the whole camp site being a pain to pack up?

Yall are talking about all getting together out your way during the summer...when are yall talking about and how long? Sorry...I fell behind on the post...don't feell like reading the last 10 pages...lol!! Anyway...that's something I would love to do...just talked to my wife...she's not as excited...but it will grow on her!! Thanks for all the info!!

Shoot...MUDs fun to play in! Just sucks cleaning it off! Maybe Mr dirt man can tell me what kind of dirt we have. If you leave it on your truck for more than a couple days...it will stain whatever it's on! Chrome, aluminum, stainless steal, SS braid lines...all trashed if not cleaned quickly!!
