    Thanks.

    It's the all pro.

    Beefy 9/16" rod. Very solid.

Once I'm done fighting stupid stuck flare nuts, I'm gonna put some 5100 B110 shocks on, so I can really flex out the rear.

I'm auto. I've gotten used to the loss of power, but I'm going to regear for performance.

St Maxx went on today. Very, very pleased with the initial impression of the ride and performance. Went with Fox on all four corners and Icon AAL as well.

Part of the problem is that every manufacturer's 255 is a different size (don't ask me how that works). Another part of the problem is that 2nd gen Tacoma wheels have 5.25" of backspacing. I had 2nd gen steelies with 235/85's and they were rubbing the frame. I switched to 3rd gen 4Runner wheels with 4.6" backspacing and that corrected it. I am on stock suspension.

Toolbox , dog poo and one bullet hole! Three inch aal, overload spring pack for towing Chevy coils ,and leveling kit up front Spidertrax 1.25 spacers 285/75r16 bfgat with extra siping for rock grips Demello bumper Warn m8000 commercial grade winch with bigger spool Cb in cab Toolbox light Band-aid on door ding Anytime on backup camera Oil cooler and aftermarket trans cooler from desert rail High lift jack mount amid a custom block and tackle for side pulls
Ok so I needed tires real band before going to Colorado ,Texas and Arkansas for deer season .i tried to get 255/85r16's but the wait on ordering them in any aggressive pattern was tooooo long almost a month. I got 285/75 r16's in the Goodyear duratrac . They measure at 37.5 psi 34.12 inches tall and other than the little bit of twitchy sway I get when I barely move the steering wheel and that they seem to grab grooves on the highway, they are an awesome ass tire. Very aggressive, quieter than my big all terrains where and they look good as hell. They did well in the rocks the mud and the sand. They are siped on all the big tread blocks and handled great in the rain on the highway ,even at too high off a speed. They are the same height as the 285/55's that I wanted . Must be a manufacturing offset that made them 3/4 of an inch taller than my last set of 285/75,s
. If y'all want I can post some pics of how they look on the truck.
One month after getting them and 10000 miles later and they still look and are wearing very evenly

I love the tall sidewall of these 255/85 tires. I am running the less aggressive Cooper ST tires in this size and very happy with off-road performance as well as highway performance. I have them on 8 x 18 Method wheels which look a bit too wide, but performance is so good I am not swapping wheels. Cooper specs say this width is okay for this tire.

    Edit to add:
Previous tires were 265/75 DuraTracs that I liked but wore out fast in rocks, and the factory Dunlop Grand Trek which were worthless off-road.

Hey guys, is anyone out the running a 255/85R-16 tire with auto trans and the 2.7 motor. If so, what gear are you using. 4:88 or 4:56??

My bad, totally forgot about posting an update. After 7 fill ups with tires @ 40psi I'm averaging right at 17.0 mpg.

Thank you. That's really good. Are you allowing for the larger diameter tire throwing your odo off? Sorry for being picky.

No sir, haven't done any recalculating of miles driven so it's likely a bit higher than that.

For those of you running these on stock OR wheels are you having any rubbing or clearance issues? I'm sure it's been brought up somewhere in 166 pages but....

Nice. Looks good man. Glad there's no issues. I've got a couple more things on order to complete the lift. I acutely like the OR wheels so I was hoping they would work.

Yep, just the normal bit of plastic trimming and they work fine.

My Toyos rub everything, UCA, LCA, Frame, plastic, etc. Not all 255/86/R16 tires are made the same!
