This pretty much sums it up. A good example is I put a set of used Toyo A/Ts on my wife's FJ cruiser as she does little to no off roading. They had less than half tread on them when we installed them on her FJ and 25000 miles later there is still enough tread to get her through winter.
If I only lightly played off road once a month or so. I would probably be running the toyos on my tacoma.
Now if you want a good toyo off road tire look into their m/t or r/t. I've run the m/t before with good luck. Only problems were tread life and they only come in an E rated tire.

Wondering if anyone is running the KO2 in a 265 75 16 on a base truck 4 cylinder! Cause my current cooper at3 weights 42lbs a tire it's a 116T load range. Debating on getting a set of KO2s on my next set........

BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2's...245/75R/16. Excellent in all conditions. Heavier than stock Dunlops, cost me 1 MPG, but worth every penny. image.jpg

I kinda was thinking on my next set get a set of TRD 17" wheels and get a 265 70 17 c rated ko2!

^^^ what he said. Many on here will flame me but C rated QUALITY TIREs are more than adequate for a small Tacomas, unless you are doing serious rock crawling or high speed desert running. For the overland type off roading that I do C rated have done well for me for many, many years. However, don't buy some cheapo brand tire in a C and complain to me.

Hopefully when i get my next set of tires I could pick up a set of 265 75 16 duratracs off of the discount tire direct ebay store for 616 shipped to my door with those $100 off coupons over 400. Cause two tires cost $408 so thats $308 for 2 tires!!!

Went with Goodyear Dura Trac's as recommended by the local TRD Toyota shop for rain and snow here in the Northwest...in stock 265/70 16... don't know mpg's yet but yesterday in mixed driving my readout ended up at 20 mpg which is the advertised combined rating...2016 Toyota Tacoma 2351 copy.jpg Since this original post I have switched to BFG 265/75 16...

I test drove those and they were just way to noise. I really did like the look.

Loves these and was dead set on them. But for my use they were a bit heavy. They only come in e rated. The ko2 can be had in a c ply rating. The st maxx is one sweet tire though

Anyone running a 275/70/16? Just ordered some ko2s in that size to fit on some SCS F5 wheels.

Not in stock size though... C rating only to be had in larger tire which will probably dampen your MPG by at least -1.5 to -2mpgs even though it is lighter.
