Not too far away. LA, but I don't mind driving for an adventure. Hell, I drove to @Pelfreybilt just to pick up my bumper, turned around and drove straight back.

Ha! Definitely one of the more memorable trucks on here. I feel like with all the junk I've done to mine, it just blends in because black trucks all look the same... Especially when they're ALL black... Haha! One of my favorite quotes from my younger cousin: "What did you use to tint your windows? Trash bags?!"

    Sure!

My schedule is pretty gridlocked, so I just have to plan about a month or two in advance for anything coordinated.

Could possibly do something in Feb or March.

    Thinking out loud...

There are some really fun trails in Anza Borrego that are still on my list. 1.5 hr travel time. Plus lots of historical and geological stuff to see.

And closer to home out in Table Mountain BLM, has trails for miles and miles. in-ko-pah has a historical trail I've been itching to get under my belt for years. And over in Jacumba I want to revisit a trail that parallels the border in the mountains, but need belly armor. 1 hr travel time. Very scenic.

There is always the Mojave road. Could do a section or two across a weekend. 5 hr from SD. Very scenic.

Otay Mountain truck trail is pretty neat and very close to us with the WW2 bunkers to explore. Lots of spurs to check out and there is a rough patch that one TW member got stuck out there a while back want to see it... 40 mins travel time very scenic ocean view and into Mexico.

My vote is for Mojave Rd, DV, or Anza Borrego in early spring.

The eastern 2/3rds of the Mojave are a great two day outing. Awesome primitive camping, a bit of moderately technical driving, cool stuff to see, and I've run it twice in the last 9 months so route finding wouldn't be an issue. Crom and whoever else could bring the whole family.

I'll try to do something local in Feb if wife will let me out that month... Will post in here in advance when if / that happens. Everything has to be negotiated. :ballchain:

    Yes, Welcome. :)

    Let's do it!

    Excellent!

^ I really like this idea. Let's do that. :) Sometime in March would be ideal, glancing at the 2016 calendar, the last weekend in March (25-27) is a 3-day weekend for me. :) Would that work for everybody?

It would be really neat to meet everybody in person, and check out each others rigs, and camp fire social. :fistbump:

Mojave Rd sounds great to me. I should have new suspension and tires squared away by then, and I can take off work almost anytime I want/need.

    Akiro the Wizard/Narrator-

Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis, and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!

    Conan-

Crom! I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that today, two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom; so grant me this one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to hell with you!

Great film, 1982. As kids my brother and i, we probably watched that film 100 times haha

Crom became my forum name because of a random memory that came to me one day while picking a new username. Crom, yep no conflict... That'll do!

    :D
