Jeez, considering the drop in oil prices, is there anyone still up there? You might have to turn out the lights as you leave Fort Mac after Christmas.

    Heard it's hurting up there....

Yes it is but both boys have good jobs that are required no matter the price unless Syncrude wants to see their billions dollar investment degrade. The one plant makes most of the Diesel for Western Canada. I can't wait for Trudeau Jr. to realize the affect of 20,000 jobs dries up on his income tax revenue not to mention the absence of Ontario made vehicle sales. Oh well I am sure there will be funds to provide for our newly minted landed immigrants. Jr. has the arrogance of his father and the brains of his mother. Four years will surely be enough.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, at least for the next couple of years, but considering the Vogue photo shoot with his wife, I'm having a lot more doubts......

Just remember there is nothing more persistent than a Liberal with a bad idea. Some folks have very poor memories. After watching the Liberals in action in years past you really don't have to wait to find out

Haha…like seriously…why do we have a PM doing vogue photo shoots!

On topic…just locked in my new truck after selling old…it's official!!!
MSRP was $45,290, I was able to get it all in for $42,500…almost $3000 off…pretty damn happy. Also, they will price match Costco on tires, and potentially price match on a tonneau cover…so far so good!!
Now I just hope the truck doesn't take over a month to get in.

Why do you need the air dam so bad? Just curious? Are you buying an OR and want the 0.001 mpg it probably actually gets?

I read a few saying it did 0.5-2mpg in savings. I'm putting a black skid plate on…love the look….and I don't care what people say…that plate must help a smidgin to deflect air lol.

I think 2 mpg might be a little high.

I wonder how many mpg's you gain with full skid plates.

To be honest I can do without the snow period but my gf and our 2014 LEXUS ISFsport AWD with winter tred could use a little action tho.
That thing is a fuckin tank!! Incredible. Not bad at hauling either... IMG_5454.jpg

Nice. My wife was considering getting an IS250 AWD but it was kind of gutless (pretty sure the 350 is not but way more money). She got an excellent deal on a Volvo S60 - much better than we tried to negotiate with Lexus.

The IS's are nice cars though.

Thanks for posting your price! I have been getting pricing on a TRD Sport (no upgrade package) in the Lower Mainland and the best I have so far is $39,450 or ~$44,400 with taxes (12%) and fees. That would be ~$41,650 if I was in AB and didn't have to pay the 7% PST. I haven't finalized a deal yet.

I guess it's official, I've got a 2016 on the way! I made the deal a couple of weeks ago and I talked to my salesman today and he said that they were able to order my truck within their allocation, it should arrive in February. The wait will not be fun but this is my first ever brand new vehicle and I didn't want to make any option or colour compromises.

I ordered a Double Cab Short Box V6 4x4 TRD Sport with Upgrade Package 6MT in Blazing Blue. MSRP is $37,955 plus the mandatory fees of $1870 ($1730 Freight, $100 A/C tax, $29.95 Tire Tax and $10 OMVIC fee) Dealer invoice is $35,107. I got a $2000 discount from MSRP (or $848 above invoice, if you prefer) purchased for $35,955 plus the $1870 fees and sales tax. I would have loved to get them down a little more but I am still very happy with the deal. I sent emails to every Toyota dealership within 100 KM and the two best quotes were within $1 of each other. Tony Graham on Merivale quoted $500 above invoice plus a $349 admin fee (i.e. $35,956) but would only do a courtesy trade/ transfer of my current truck if they did an Ontario Safety on it and wanted to charge a second $349 admin fee. I purchased from Mendes on Bank partly because they agreed to do a courtesy deal on my current truck, as is and with no admin fee. (Courtesy deal = I sell my 2007 truck as-is to a private buyer but on paper, I trade the 2007 in to the dealer and the dealer re-sells the truck to my private buyer. The way that tax works in Ontario there is no cost difference to the private buyer but it saves me over $2000 in tax on the 2016 truck.)

If anyone in the Ottawa area is looking for a new Toyota, I had a very pleasant experience dealing with Russell P (Internet Lead Manager) at Mendes Toyota. He gave me a competitive quote right out of the gate, always responds immediately to my emails (even on his days off!), has 30 years experience in the business and is genuinely nice to talk to. If you'd like his email or phone number, feel free to PM me.
