are clocks/ignition bezel interchangeable between all first gens?

My 04 DCSB Tacoma doesn't have the lit key ring but I sure would like to have that option and @frizzman is right! You can't see the clock half the time anyways! LOL

 

Ya something to do with different seat heights between years. I have no issue seeing the clock on my 99'.

 

My problem is the steering wheel getting in the way.

 

Ya from what I have read the 01-04 seats sit a little different causing the steering wheel to block the view.

 

What model of Toyota should I be looking for to get the illuminated ring and a clock that is a different color other than orange that I can plug & play into my 04 Tacoma?

 

I found it off a 4runner in the junk yard. My clock is also off a 4runner and is red/orange instead of green.

 

I believe the rings where on 98-00, the green color clocks where 96-00 and orange was 01-04.

yes, they all interchange from 95.5-04 and its one of the few exceptions where Toyota put the plugs there to connect them weather you had a clock or not
