I just installed my bolt on sliders on my 2015 a week ago. I didn't have to drill any holes. I did have to fight the sliders into the right position to get some of the holes to line up.

There is no instructions so it's a little confusing when you first look at everything but I found a pretty good write up that helped.

I used two jack stands and pushed the sliders into place and got all bolts started and adjusted before I tightened everything down.

My Wife is driving up to South Tahoe tomorrow morning with her sisters, how are the roads? Should I convince her not to? They ended up deciding to take the other sisters Xterra 4x4 with Big O all terrains on it, so its a bit better than an AWD Edge with street tires lol.

 

They should bolt right up, we shall see.

I probably have the older style sliders. Still one of the best additions to the truck.

Edit: just looked at that install link. The new brackets are serious.

 

Lived South Shore 9+ years. This last storm started warm. Typical chain restrictions is Twin Bridges to Myers. That's usually OK. It's when the snow level drops that the drive gets kind of long. It's a lot straighter and wider than that when I lived there. Don't miss it at all. Never had a 4x4 when I was there either.

 

Yea shes on the fence about it. Mostly worried about sitting in traffic because of shit roads with the baby in the car. Her sister droves pretty carefully. We'll see, their coming in the morning and well get a road update then

 

I am starting to hear a bit of the clunk noise on the drivers side when turning or pulling out of the parking lot. I have noticed that I only hear it when it rains. Any ideas what it might be? I tried reading a few old threads but no luck. I keep reading it could be the LCA or steering stop

 

@jberry813 on your 1st gen tundra did you have a single row light bar? I just got a 32" double row off ffdawson and it looks really tight behind the bumper with the lines right there.

How did you secure it?

 

No sway bar? Otherwise could be the sway bushing.

Right now when I turn mine sounds like an old Viking ship in a storm.

 

I still have my sway bar. I think I am going to have someone turn the wheel while I am looking to see where exactly its coming from. I just hope I am not damaging anything while still driving it.

What suspension are you running? Check every bolt and nut for tightness, make sure nothing is loose. I had a clunk from my front end as well on my old truck, finally figured out after tightening every bolt I could find, one of the lower spindle bolts had backed itself out by about a 1 full turn or so, it allowed the spindle to move by a hair, which when driving turned that hair of movement into a loud clunk everytime the suspension cycled.

Now, as for aftermarket stuff, its noisy. Once you are no longer OEM, get used to squeaks and clunks lol.

As of right now I am still on stock suspension with a leveling kit. I do however have my new Icon stage 3 suspension sitting at home, which I am looking to get installed this following month. I think I will go ahead and do what you did and check for any loose bolts for now until I can get the new suspension installed. I don't really mind a few clunks here and there, I guess my biggest concern is damaging anything.
