Stupid glove box damper!

    is there a trick to putting this back together? i just changed my cabin airfilter and now i cannot get the stupid damper back on and my glove box just slams open, not that big of a deal but if it can be fixed id like to fix it! :rolleyes:

    You just have to mess with it a little, but be gentle it seems easy to break. Get your glove box all the way back, so it can stand upside down. connect the glove box end of the shock to the glove box, then put the right side of the glove box in it's ''normal closing position''. Then, by prying a little, connect the second end of the shock to the car dash. Once connected, put back right side of glove box in it's closing position and enjoy. That's how I did it.

    I was trying to figure this out today too after I found i have no cabin filter I fucked around with it could nt get it either, need chris4x4 to chime in with a detailed how to and pics

    crazy I was wondering the same thing. I just cleaned mine last night, put it in this morning, and my glovebox just plops open now.

    take it completely off then hook it on the middle hole under the dash then hook the bottom hole to the stud on the box. Ive done it a few times doing the yellow wire mod

    it really easy if you hook it to the dash peg first (middle hole, lobe down) then pull it down and snap onto the box
