    no, i have my cb hooked to a cell phone charger, i don't leave the cb in the truck unless we are wheeling. easy in easy out.;)

    Roland (Yoytoda) had the same issue this last week. Tried to plug it into the cigarette lighter and it blew it. Dont know whats up with that?

    If you wire it to the ciggarette lighter plug wrong it will be wired reverse polarity and burn up the CB

    Oh that's what I meant, I had mine hooked up like that when I met up with you all in Ocotillo, I bought a replacement 12v plug and soldered the ends to my cb then used shrink tube to seal the ends. Easy $$. Wiring to the back of your 12v outlet is a dangerous thing, thank goodness for fuses or 2 buddies trucks would have been toast...:eek:

    The stupid accessory plug i got from walmart was labeled wrong. the hot was the wire with ridges which in the electrical world is always ground. Damn cheap ass plug.

    my brother hooked mine up the second time with a power inverter, so if it is wrong it will kick out the inverter first, i think that was what you call it.:notsure:
    it has been hooked up that way for six months and no problem. one less thing to leave in the truck so some one does not jack me.
