Fog lights were not working on my '13 Tacoma. There was power to the dash switch. Found wire leading to fog lights where insulation had rubbed off and grounded to the frame. As soon as I moved the wire off the frame, the headlights went out. Now I've got no fog lights, no power to the fog light switch and no headlights.

Everything else works. The problem is isolated to the headlights (both low and high beam), the fog lights and the fog light switch.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Blown 10 ampere Low Beam Right Headlight fuse. This fuse is in the engine compartment fuse box and should be labeled as: HEAD (LO RH). This fuse supplies power to the Fog Light Relay Coil.

Your high beam headlights will probably still work fine.

Repair the wire, replace the blown fuse and that should make you whole again.

Thanks Jimmy. I did check for high beam headlights last night. They are also dead. The parking lights do work though. I'll check the fuse this morning. Sure hope that solves the problem.

Checked the fuse. It is okay. Looks like I'm going to have to take it to the dealer.

That is odd. The circuit from the service manual 2006 second gen says the circuit is like this:

Battery > Head Relay > Dim Relay** > High Beam / Low Beam Circuit.
(** Feeds High or low beam circuit depending on position.)

Low Beam Circuit > Right and left Low Fuses > Bulbs > Ground.
High Beam Circuit > Right and left High Fuses > Bulbs > Ground.

    Check the ground wire...
